Position Details
This is a full-time, exempt, at-will position that will work across FN and affiliated initiatives. The team currently operates remotely, with occasional in-person team retreats, etc. Some travel will be required. Additional evening and weekend hours are occasionally required to fulfill the duties of this position.
The Opportunity
The Development Associate will have the opportunity to build and maintain the supportive tissue that upholds the Development Team and assists them in achieving their fundraising goals. Their primary focus will be on providing critical and seamless support for all Development Team members, including administrative support, data & database management, project management, donor prospecting, and operations tasks as needed. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Development Operations. The successful candidate will have a background in fundraising, exceptional communication skills, excellent project execution skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and critical thinking abilities, as well as a deep interest in understanding the intersection of policy and electoral work in American politics.

What You Will Do
Principal activities will include but not be limited to:
Administrative & Operational Support:
Help the Development Team build and execute a strategy for prioritizing the time on their calendars. Coordinate the Development Teams’ internal & external meetings, including collecting inputs for agendas, providing meeting recaps, and sending out follow-up communications and action items across departments.Ensure completion of meeting action items and follow up for the team and track progress on action items, including for events, document creation, grant submissions, and more.Monitor project plans, trackers, and other project management systems for updates/input needed from across the Development Team.Update project management systems on a daily basis. Maintain the Development Teams’ Google Drive, ensuring planning and programming documents are up to date and saved in appropriate folders.Obtain and submit receipts for reimbursements for CDO, and other staff as needed.
Data Management:
Ensure the donor database is comprehensive and up-to-date, tracking relevant donor information, pledges & contributions, strategic next steps, and engagement history.Troubleshoot any glitches that occur in the donor database with the support of the Operations Team and external consultants.Generate regular reports on fundraising progress and donor metrics that will help inform decision-making and strategy development.Assist in the reconciliation process, ensuring that all gifts received by the Development Team have corresponding contribution forms and are allocated to the appropriate entity during bi-weekly check-ins with the Finance Team.
Giving Circles Support:
Assist with data entry of all information about the Giving Circle donor pipeline, including engagement, correspondence, solicitations, and donations.Assist with moving Giving Circles content through the approvals process
Donor Prospecting & Management:
Support Development Team members by running donor prospect reports via Donor Search and independent searches.Provide prospect lists to Relationship Managers based on weekly ActBlue donations.
Event Support:
Provide technical support for in-person and virtual Development events, including setting up Zoom meetings/webinars, managing RSVP lists, sending out invitations & follow-ups, sourcing venue & accommodations, and more.Attend virtual events, and when required, act as “co-host” to spotlight speakers, manage the chat and support guests with technical issues.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in fundraisingPrevious experience in fundraising 2+ years of experience fundraising for PACs and 501c4’sExperience building and maintaining fundraising infrastructure, primarily working in donor databasesProject management expertise
Desired Qualifications
Experience fundraising in a national political environment a plusExperience operating within HubSpot and AirTable a plus
