We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to build and own our company-wide event streaming platform — turning our existing real-time event monitoring system into a scalable, self-service infrastructure that engineering teams across the organisation can rely on.
Your Role
Design and operate a company-wide event bus built on Kafka, evolving our existing real-time event monitoring system into a scalable, self-service platform
Define and maintain all infrastructure as code using AWS CDK across ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with zero-downtime deployments and robust rollback capabilities
Create self-service tooling and documentation so engineering teams can independently onboard to the platform
Instrument the platform with Datadog, define SLOs, and build runbooks that make operations manageable at scale
Embed security best practices from day one: IAM least-privilege, secrets management, and network segmentation
Your Profile
3+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE
Hands-on Kafka experience is a must — consumer groups, topic design, partitioning strategies, and operational troubleshooting
Strong AWS expertise across compute, networking, storage, security, and monitoring
Proficient with Infrastructure as Code — AWS CDK preferred, Terraform or CloudFormation also considered
Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
Comfortable with Docker, Python scripting, and Linux administration
Kubernetes/EKS, Datadog, and FinOps experience are a plus
