The problem: Every minute matters in fire response. As climate change amplifies the intensity of wildfires—with longer fire seasons, dryer fuels, and faster winds—new ignitions spread faster and put more communities at risk. Today, most wildfires are detected by bystanders and reported via 911, meaning it can take hours to detect a fire, verify its exact location and size, and dispatch first responders. Fire authorities need a faster way to detect, confirm, and pinpoint fires so that they can quickly respond—preventing small flare-ups from becoming devastating infernos.
About Pano: We are a 150+ person growth-stage hybrid-remote start-up, headquartered in San Francisco. We are the leader in early wildfire detection and intelligence, helping fire professionals respond to fires faster and more safely—with the right equipment, timely information, and enhanced coordination—so that they can stop a new ignition before it grows. Pano AI combines advanced hardware, software, and artificial intelligence into an easy-to-use, web-based platform. Leveraging a network of ultra-high-definition, 360-degree cameras atop high vantage points, as well as satellite and other data feeds, Pano AI produces a real-time picture of threats in a geographic region and delivers immediate, actionable intelligence.

About the Role
Pano AI is entering a critical phase of growth, and we are hiring a Director of Product Management to lead a net-new product initiative that will shape the company’s next chapter. This is a true 0→1 leadership role where you will define what we build next, working directly with executive leadership to turn a strong directional thesis into a clear product vision and strategy. You will operate with high visibility and ownership, responsible for aligning stakeholders and setting the foundation for a meaningful expansion of our product capabilities.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a foundational role with outsized impact. You will be operating at the ground floor of a new initiative, with the ability to influence both what gets built and how the team evolves around it. For the right product leader, this is a chance to apply your experience to a mission-driven company, take on a highly ambiguous and high-stakes problem, and play a central role in shaping the future of the business.
What You’ll Do
Define and own the vision for a new product initiative, grounded in customer problems, business priorities, and technical feasibility
Synthesize inputs from across the company into a clear, actionable product strategy
Align leadership, including the executive team, around product direction and key decisions
Translate strategy into execution by defining requirements, sequencing work, and driving delivery with engineering and design
Identify opportunities to connect and extend existing capabilities into a more cohesive product experience
Drive toward getting a product into customer hands, iterating quickly based on feedback
Establish the foundation for how this product and team scale over time, including influencing resourcing and hiring
Operate as a builder, creating clarity and momentum in an environment with limited structure
Who You Are
8–15+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning meaningful product areas and operating at a senior level within complex organizations
Proven experience building 0→1 products, ideally platforms or systems that connect multiple components into a cohesive experience
Strong background in platform thinking and data-driven products, including working with integrations, APIs, or multi-system environments
Demonstrated ability to define product vision from ambiguity and carry it through to execution, not just strategy
Experience working closely with executive stakeholders, with the ability to synthesize input, drive alignment, and execute against shared direction
Comfortable operating in high-ambiguity, high-expectation environments, where you are expected to create structure and momentum from scratch
Strong cross-functional leader who can mobilize teams without direct authority, earning trust quickly across engineering, design, and leadership
Brings a balance of conviction and collaboration—able to push when needed, but equally strong at listening, adapting, and aligning
Has seen a similar playbook before and brings a sense of maturity, calm, and pattern recognition to complex product challenges
