Role Overview
Location: Netherlands (Zoetermeer office)
Reporting to: Sr. Distribution Account Manager, Enterprise Sales - EMEA
Region: Benelux & Nordics
The Distribution Account Manager is responsible for managing distributor relationships, driving regional business plans and growth initiatives, overseeing buying plans, and ensuring sales execution to meet sell-in and sell-through targets within the assigned region. This role requires strong collaboration with internal teams and distributors to optimize performance and support overall business objectives.
This role includes developing strong distributor partnerships, optimizing sell-in and sell-through performance, and building comprehensive business plans aligned with NETGEAR’s strategic goals. The DAM is accountable for forecasting, planning, and managing distributor inventory to maintain stock health and drive sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Distributor Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for all distributors in the assigned region.
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers at all levels.
Conduct regular business reviews to assess performance and define corrective actions.
Ensure distributors comply with NETGEAR policies, pricing structures, branding, and operational standards.
Advocate for distributor needs while ensuring alignment with NETGEAR strategy.
Regional Business Growth & Strategy
Develop strategic business plans with NETGEAR Sales Leaders to support regional growth targets.
Analyse market trends, competitive activity, and sell-through performance to identify opportunities.
Collaborate with marketing and channel teams to execute localized campaigns and partner incentives.
Monitor sell-in and sell-through performance to ensure continuous improvement.
Use business intelligence and insights to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
Buying Plan Ownership
Create, negotiate, and manage distributor buying plans aligned with quarterly and annual sell-in and sell-through targets.
Collaborate with distributors on forecasting, replenishment planning, and inventory management.
Optimize inventory levels to reduce overstock and prevent stock-outs.
Coordinate with PLM, Supply Chain, and Demand Planning for accurate forecasting and product availability.
Adjust buying strategies based on market insights, performance trends, and seasonality.
Sales Execution & Performance Management
Achieve regional sell-through target through strong operational and sales execution.
Conduct performance analysis and provide insights to improve distributor productivity.
Support product launches with training materials and execution planning.
Manage pricing, promotions, rebates, and channel programs to maintain competitiveness.
Maintain visibility into distributor pipeline activity and conversion metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Management, PLM, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
Maintain strong, proactive communication with Sales Leaders for alignment on strategic priorities.
Align on joint opportunities, customer engagements, and channel programs.
Provide market insights, forecasting data, and operational feedback to internal teams.
Deliver product and category feedback to influence roadmap and strategy.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in distribution management or a similar channel-focused role.
Strong track record working with distribution and reseller partners.
Action-oriented with a strong drive for results.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
High proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Adaptable and effective in a fast-paced environment.
Strong negotiation and account management abilities.
Ability to build productive internal and external relationships.
Experience in strategic planning, forecasting, and business execution.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical understanding of networking solutions.
Knowledge of Switching, Wireless, and Pro AV.
