Employee Benefit News (EBN), the primary media resource for benefits executives, is seeking an Editor-in-Chief.
We are looking for a recognized industry authority to serve as the strategic voice of EBN. In this high-profile role, you will lead a high-performing editorial team to deliver mission-critical intelligence that helps over 300,000 business leaders navigate healthcare reform, retirement strategy, and the future of workplace wellness. As a player-coach, you will drive our research and analysis agenda while serving as the face of the brand, facilitating executive-level conversations on camera, on stage at our flagship events, and across our digital platforms.
Primary job functions:
● Editorial Leadership: Drive the breadth and depth of coverage to make EBN essential reading. Lead a team of reporters and editors to produce work that is impactful, unique, and useful.
● Content Strategy: Oversee the editorial content strategy for all EBN offerings, including coverage and the curation of pieces from key industry thought leaders.
● Management: Manage editorial budget and staff development.
● Audience Growth: Use data analytics to monitor engagement and refine content strategies that drive acquisition and retention of executive-level decision-makers.
● Events & Multimedia: Provide direction on industry trends and insights for our in-house production teams to highlight in live events and webinars.
Knowledge and Skills
● Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the benefits procurement, technology, and regulatory compliance landscape.
● Digital Fluency: A proven track record of building digital audiences.
● Strategic Leadership: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and leading organizational change.
● Communication: Excellent presentation skills; ability to engage senior executives and industry leaders effectively.
Requirements
● 10+ years of relevant experience in editorial departments
● Extensive experience with business-to-business based publications
● Fluency in modern digital publishing systems
● A track record of managing and leading change
● Rich experience working closely with senior executives on strategy and execution
