The Impact You'll Have
The Platform Team at Prophet Security is the foundation that enables our security operations platform to operate reliably at scale. This team is responsible for:
Integrations: Build and maintain robust connectors for fast, reliable ingestion of security data from diverse sources (SIEM, EDR, cloud platforms, SaaS applications)
Observability & Monitoring: Implement comprehensive telemetry, logging, and alerting systems that ensure 99.9%+ uptime and enable rapid incident response.
Developer Productivity: Create CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, development environments, and tooling that accelerate the entire engineering organization.
Deployment Infrastructure: Design and manage systems for reliable, secure, and compliant deployments across customer environments.
As the Engineering Manager for this team, you'll define and own the technical roadmap for Platform infrastructure, where you will balance customer-needs with longer-term architectural excellence. Your work will directly impact every customer interaction with Prophet Security and enable the entire engineering organization to move faster and more scalably.
What You’ll Do
This is a hands-on engineering management role, where we expect meaningful technical contribution (25% of your time) alongside management responsibilities.
Build and grow a high-performing team of Platform engineers. You will be responsible for hiring world-class talent that aligns with our culture and raises the bar
Stay hands-on with our codebase to maintain technical credibility and deep understanding of our systems. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to fix a bug, add monitoring, or ship a feature when needed.
Provide coaching and mentorship through regular 1:1s, creating clear career development paths and growth opportunities for each team member
Manage team performance by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, and conducting performance reviews that help engineers grow
Champion operational excellence by establishing SLOs, incident response processes, and continuous improvement practices
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience as an engineering manager, with demonstrated success leading platform, infrastructure, or systems teams
Strong technical background with hands-on experience building distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or developer tooling
Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, including hiring, developing, and retaining top talent
Deep understanding of modern software development practices including agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery
Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Familiarity with AI tooling and enabling a team to effectively follow an AI-native software development lifecycle
Nice to Have
Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, or agentic workflows.
Background in cybersecurity
Experience building teams in fast-paced startup environments, particularly in scaling teams starting from the Series A/B stage

Compensation
Employee compensation will be determined based on interview performance, level of experience, specialization of skills, and market rate. During the offer discussion, your recruiter will review the finalized base salary, bonus (for applicable roles), benefits & perks, and stock options as they’ll be reflected in the offer letter.
