About Us:
Here at Ambience, we never set out to be just another scribe. We’re building the AI intelligence platform that restores humanity to healthcare and drives meaningful ROI for health systems across the country.
Our technology helps providers focus on delivering great care by removing the administrative burden that pulls them away from patients and away from their most impactful work. Ambience delivers real-time coding-aware documentation and clinical workflow support across ambulatory, emergency and inpatient settings at the top health systems in North America.
Our teams operate relentlessly with extreme ownership to build the best solutions for our health system partners. We value candor, positivity and deep thought — and we expect a lot from each other because we know the problems we’re solving truly matter.
Ambience was ranked #1 for Improving the Clinician Experience in the KLAS Research Emerging Solutions Top 20 Report, recognized by Fast Company as one of the Next Big Things in Tech, named one of the best AI companies in healthcare by Inc., and selected as a LinkedIn Top Startup in 2024 and 2025. We’re backed by Oak HC/FT, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), OpenAI Startup Fund, and Kleiner Perkins — and we’re just getting started.
The mission of the Executive Assistant to the President is to act as a strategic extension of the President – protecting time, accelerating execution, and eliminating friction across the company.
In this role, you will own the executive operating system that enables the President to focus on the highest-leverage work. You will architect structure around priorities, translate complexity into clarity, and ensure decisions turn into action quickly and reliably.
This is not a traditional administrative role. You will operate as a high-trust partner at the center of internal and external momentum – building systems, driving follow-through, and representing the President with judgment, discretion, and precision.
This is a highly impactful role for someone who thrives at founder pace, enjoys ambiguity, and wants to grow into a leadership-caliber operator over time.
This role is required to be in office regularly (minimum 3 days/week).
Architect a cadence of meetings, work blocks, and executive rituals aligned to top company priorities
Prepare concise, high-context one-pagers outlining decisions, trade-offs, and key context
Ensure follow-ups are tracked and executed within 24–48 hours
Create leverage such that the President feels materially more focused and effective
Triage inbound communications with speed and judgment, resolving or escalating within hours
Draft internal and external communications in the President’s voice with clarity and precision
Improve stakeholder response speed and clarity across the organization
Execute board meetings, investor updates, executive briefings, and travel with flawless attention to detail
Deliver polished materials that are error-free and executive-ready
Serve as a trusted proxy in high-stakes contexts when appropriate
Own 1–2 cross-functional or ambiguous initiatives end-to-end
Shadow key meetings and ensure decisions translate into motion
Build systems that reduce chaos and create clarity without constant oversight
Expand ownership into adjacent operational domains over time
Contribute meaningfully to planning and strategic discussions
Continuously refine how the Office of the President operates
5+ years in a high-level Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff, or operational role
Experience supporting a founder or C-level executive
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
San Francisco-based and excited to work full-time in-office
Leverage-oriented thinker: you build systems, not just complete tasks
High judgment: you know what to own, what to block, and what to escalate
Executional velocity: you move quickly without sacrificing quality
Extreme ownership: nothing falls through the cracks
Founder-stage fit: you thrive in ambiguity, pace, and high standards
Deep discretion and trustworthiness:
Nice to have:
Experience in venture-backed technology, finance, or healthcare
Exposure to investor relations, board support, or private equity/investment banking environments
The President’s effectiveness is a force multiplier for Ambience. This role directly shapes how strategy turns into execution, how decisions turn into results, and how internal and external stakeholders experience leadership.
You will help build the operating backbone behind the Office of the President – increasing leverage, clarity, and speed across the company.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to operate at the highest level of trust and visibility, grow into broader leadership ownership over time, and meaningfully impact the trajectory of Ambience.
The base compensation for this role is approximately $130,000–$200,000 per year, excluding equity or bonus targets. We intentionally offer a wide range to support flexibility around cash and equity. We believe strongly in equity ownership and want team members to share meaningfully in the impact they create.
If you’re outside this range, we still encourage you to apply — we take an individualized approach to compensation that considers the full picture.
