Promptfoo is backed by Insight Partners and Andreessen Horowitz and is based in San Mateo, CA (SF Bay Area). Why This Role
Promptfoo is investing significantly in conferences and executive events as a primary pipeline channel. From RSA Conference and Black Hat USA to Gartner Security Summit and CISO dinners, our event program is a direct line to the security leaders who buy our platform. This role exists to make sure every dollar we invest in events delivers a measurable pipeline and accelerates the relationships that close deals.
You will own the end-to-end event strategy and execution—from booth design to badge scans to post-event pipeline. You will work closely with Sales, Demand Generation, and Product Marketing to turn in-person moments into enterprise conversations.
Own the event engine that puts Promptfoo in front of CISOs, AppSec leads, and security directors
Maximize ROI on a six-figure conference investment across marquee security events
Build and execute executive engagement programs (CISO dinners, roundtables, VIP experiences)
Collaborate with Sales to convert event interactions into qualified pipeline
Join a small, high-impact Marketing team where your work directly drives revenue
Own planning, logistics, and execution for all conferences, trade shows, and sponsored events (RSA, Black Hat USA, Gartner events, and others)
Manage booth presence, signage, demos, giveaways, and staffing plans to deliver a cohesive brand experience
Evaluate and recommend new event investments based on audience fit and pipeline potential
Negotiate vendor contracts, manage event budgets, and track spend against ROI targets
Plan and host CISO dinners, executive roundtables, and invite-only networking events that facilitate meaningful conversations with Promptfoo leadership
Collaborate with Sales to build targeted invite lists and secure attendance from high-value accounts
Own lead capture process from badge scanning to post-event data hygiene
Partner with Demand Generation to build pre-event, at-event, and post-event nurture sequences
Coordinate with the Sales team for timely follow-up to convert event leads into qualified opportunities
Report on event pipeline contribution, cost-per-lead, and ROI by event (weekly during event seasons)
Align with Product Marketing on event messaging, demos, and collateral
Work with the Technical Marketing Engineer to coordinate conference talk submissions, Arsenal demos, and live content at events
Support Sales with executive meeting scheduling and on-site logistics for prospect and customer meetings
4–6 years of field or event marketing experience in B2B tech, preferably in security or developer tools
Deep experience executing at marquee conferences: RSA, Black Hat, Gartner Security Summit, or comparable events
Strong logistics and vendor management skills from running a booth, managing a venue, and keeping a dozen moving parts on schedule
Data-driven mindset: you measure events in pipeline contribution and ROI, not just badge scans

Organized and comfortable managing budgets, timelines, and external vendors simultaneously
Experience marketing to security buyers (CISOs, AppSec leads, Security Directors)

Experience at fast-growing startups where events were a primary pipeline channel
Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools (HubSpot) for event workflows and lead routing
