We are currently seeking a Floating Certified Teacher to join our South Hamilton team. This is a highly valued, dynamic role that brings flexibility, variety, and impact. As a floating teacher, you’ll support multiple classrooms, ensure continuity of care, and step in wherever children and teachers need you most. You’ll Be Successful in This Role If You Have:
EEC Teacher Certification, CDA, or equivalent education and experiencePrior experience in a center-based childcare or private school settingA warm, engaging presence and a genuine passion for early childhood developmentA flexible, team-first mindset and the ability to pivot with confidence
Position Requirements:
Availability Monday–Friday with flexibility between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM
Ability to spend extended periods on the floor with childrenAbility to lift to 50 poundsAbility to stand for up to 90% of the workdayStrong attention to detail, time management, and professionalism
What You’ll Do:
As a Floating Teacher, you will play a critical role in keeping our classrooms running smoothly and our children supported throughout the day. Responsibilities include:
Providing classroom coverage for teacher absences, planning time, breaks, and daily staffing needsSupporting classroom opening and closing routines, including cleaning, sanitizing, and preparation for the next dayAssisting teachers with daily classroom activities such as: Engaging children during free play and learning centers Supporting lesson preparation and classroom projects Supervising outdoor play and transitions Assisting with diapering, bathroom routines, meals, and snacks Supporting rest time and classroom flowMaintaining cleanliness throughout the school, including classrooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, laundry, and sanitation equipmentEncouraging active participation through age-appropriate, engaging interactionsMaintaining required EEC professional development hours and PQ Registry complianceAttending monthly staff meetings and participating in school-wide initiativesBuilding positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleaguesHelping create a safe, joyful, and nurturing learning environment every day
