PURPOSE PRIMARY
To drive revenue growth and operational efficiency within the Foreign Exchange (FX) business by enabling structured sales of forex products (Money Remittance), coordinating end-to-end sales activities, and delivering exceptional client support. The role is responsible for managing client onboarding, ensuring full regulatory and exchange control compliance, and maintaining a strong pipeline of FX transactions to support sustainable income generation.
The Forex Sales Coordinator acts as a key link between Sales, Compliance, Operations, and Clients to ensure seamless execution of FX transactions, accurate documentation, adherence to regulatory requirements, and achievement of sales targets. Through proactive pipeline management, client engagement, and sales enablement support, the role contributes directly to transaction volumes, fee income growth, and enhanced client retention within the FX business.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT
- Competence in tracking leads, managing deal flow, forecasting transaction volumes, and maintaining CRM systems.
- Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring requirements relevant to remittance transactions.
- Solid understanding of FX spot transactions, forward contracts (if applicable), money remittance products, exchange rates, margins, and pricing structures.
- Knowledge of FX deal capture, payment processing workflows, SWIFT messaging (where applicable), and reconciliation procedures.
- Understanding of transaction reporting requirements to regulators and internal risk committees.
- Ability to identify operational, compliance, and market risks within FX transactions and escalate appropriately.
- Ability to prepare sales reports, revenue tracking dashboards, pipeline analysis, and performance metrics to support management decisions
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- National Diploma in Banking or equivalent (NQF Level 5)
- Regulatory Exam Level 5 (RE 5)
REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2 – 5 years in Foreign Exchange (FX), Money Remittance / Cross-border payments, Sales support or client onboarding
- 2 years in Banking or financial services operations.
