We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer Intern to work directly alongside our customer-facing engineering team as we deploy AI solutions in the field.
This is a hands-on internship where you'll get real exposure to how conversational AI is built, configured, and launched inside some of the largest home service companies in the country. You'll work closely with engineers and customers, help support live deployments, and contribute directly to the systems that power Avoca's product.

Support the Forward Deployed Engineering team in configuring and launching AI solutions for customers
Help build and maintain integrations, APIs, and deployment tooling
Assist in translating customer workflows and business requirements into technical solutions
Document deployment patterns and flag recurring issues back to the product and engineering team
Collaborate across engineering and customer-facing teams in a fast-moving, in-office environment
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Foundational experience with Python and/or JavaScript through coursework, personal projects, or internships
Curiosity about AI, LLMs, and conversational systems
Strong communicator who is comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teammates
Low ego, eager to learn, and energized by a fast-paced environment
Bonus: any experience with APIs, cloud platforms, prompt engineering, or AI tools
Availability to work in person with us in NYC
