About Seapoint
Seapoint is building the financial home for European startups and scale-ups. We are an AI-powered business account that handles everything from payroll and expenses to invoice payments and reporting, all in one place.
Founded by Sean Mullaney (former European CIO at Stripe) and a team of alumni from Stripe, Wise, Wayflyer, Nubank and Tide, we have raised $3 million in pre-seed funding led by Frontline Ventures. After nine months of building, we are now in private beta with dozens of VC-backed startups who are finally getting the bird's-eye view of their finances they have always needed.
The problem we are solving is real: European startups are stuck between neobanks (too small) and traditional corporate banking (too big). They are juggling 4 to 6 different financial products, running processes manually, and earning no interest on cash deposits. We are changing that with AI automation that handles the tedious financial work so founders can focus on building their businesses instead of managing spreadsheets.
About the role

Community is not a side project at Seapoint. It is the growth engine.
We are building the financial home for European startups and we believe the best way to do that is not by running more ads or hiring more SDRs. It is by becoming the most trusted name in the founder ecosystem. That means showing up where founders are, creating experiences they actually want to attend, and building a network that compounds over time.
We are looking for a Founding Community Builder to own this from scratch. You will be one of the first hires shaping how Seapoint shows up in market. You will define the strategy, run the events, build the partnerships, and create the playbook that scales.
If you have ever been to a 12-person founder dinner where the conversation was genuinely good, or walked away from a curated event feeling like you met the right people, that is what we want to build at scale across London and Dublin. Think intimate, high-signal, founder-first. Not sponsored happy hours.
The community strategy is already defined. The ecosystem flywheel is designed. Now we need the person to make it real.
What you will do
- Own community strategy end-to-end. Define what Seapoint's founder community stands for, who it is for, and how it grows. Build a flywheel, not a funnel.
- Build and run a world-class events programme. Intimate supper clubs with 10 to 15 founders and a seasoned operator. Finance deep-dives. Storytelling evenings. Seasonal socials. Every event should be one people talk about afterwards.
- Own the partnership ecosystem that powers it. Work with accelerators, VCs, startup communities, and ecosystem platforms to co-create events, extend reach, and build the credibility that makes founders trust Seapoint before they have ever used the product.
- Build Seapoint's digital community home. Launch and own the spaces, whether Discord or equivalent, where founders exchange freely. Ask the questions they would never post on LinkedIn. Share what is actually working.
- Turn community into a content engine. Work with the team to launch a founder spotlight series, capture event conversations worth sharing, and build an always-on storytelling flywheel. Content gives founders visibility and that creates organic reach for Seapoint.
- Activate an ambassador programme. Identify and develop community champions who generate authentic content and drive organic referrals. The founders who tell other founders to use Seapoint.
- Drive qualified pipeline into the GTM motion. Community at Seapoint is not brand-only. You will work closely with the sales team to turn warm relationships into qualified introductions and community-sourced leads.
- Feed founder insights back to product and GTM. The community is one of our sharpest listening channels. Surface what you are hearing so the product and messaging keep getting sharper.
Requirements
What we are looking for
- You have built and run a community before, not just managed one. You know what it takes to go from zero to something people genuinely care about.
- You have real events and partnerships experience. You have produced memorable experiences and built the ecosystem relationships that made them worth attending.
- You are commercially minded. You understand the difference between community as a brand play and community as a growth engine, and you know how to build the latter without killing what makes the former work.
- You are a natural connector. People remember you after a room because you made the right introductions, not because you talked the most.
- You are high-agency. You do not wait for a playbook. You build it.
- You are at home in the London startup ecosystem. You know who the interesting investors, accelerators, and founder communities are and people in them know you.
- You are a strong communicator, in person, in writing, and on stage. Founders will trust you to represent Seapoint in rooms we are not in.
- You are excited by fintech and can speak credibly to the problems founders face with their finances. You do not need to have worked in fintech before, but you need to care about it.
Bonus if you have:
- Worked at or with accelerators, VC platform teams, or founder communities
- Built community programmes at a product-led growth company
- Produced content series or storytelling formats that generated genuine organic reach
