About Middesk
Middesk makes it easier for businesses to work together. Since 2018, we’ve been transforming business identity verification, replacing slow, manual processes with seamless access to complete, up-to-date data. Our platform helps companies across industries confidently verify business identities, onboard customers faster, and reduce risk at every stage of the customer lifecycle.
Middesk came out of Y Combinator, is backed by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, and was recently named to Forbes Fintech 50 List and cited as an industry leader in business verification by digital identity strategy firm, Liminal.
A fintech wants to onboard a new business customer. Before they can say yes, they need to verify: Is this business real? Is it legally registered? Who owns it? Is it on a sanctions list?
Most companies either do this manually (slow, expensive, error-prone) or cobble together multiple data sources (still slow, still error-prone). A process that should take seconds can stretch into days or weeks. Deals die in limbo. Growth teams hit walls, and compliance becomes a bottleneck, not a safeguard.
Middesk built the infrastructure that collapses all of that into an API call. Verify a business in seconds with accurate, up-to-date data. We're already the verification layer for companies like Brex, Plaid, and Stripe. The market is massive, the problem is urgent, and we're still early enough that what you build here will shape how the category grows.
Your job is to build the growth engine that turns this opportunity into consistent, high-quality pipeline. This is a rare setup: strong product, proven value proposition, real customer proof. You won't be fighting to convince people the problem exists; you'll be capturing demand that's already there and building the system that scales it.
We follow a hybrid work model, and for this role, there is an expectation of 2 days per week in our SF or NYC office. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance, as we believe in the value of in-person collaboration and building strong team connections while also supporting flexibility where possible.
Build the growth system: Own our entire growth motion: paid, SEO, lifecycle, ABM, website conversion, and experimentation. Translate our marketing strategy into a focused roadmap with clear bets. Decide where we invest, where we test, and where we stop.
Run experiments that actually matter: Build a real experimentation practice with 3–5 meaningful tests per month with clear learnings. Work with Brand to test creative, with Product Marketing to test messaging. Move fast from hypothesis to test to learn to scale or kill.
Own the path from interest to pipeline: Shape every touchpoint between "someone is interested" and "meeting booked": landing pages, lead routing, lifecycle, SDR handoff. Partner with RevOps and Sales to capture the right signals, follow up fast, and eliminate friction. Make it as easy as possible for buyers to raise their hand and progress through the top of our funnel.
Lead the team and set the standard: Manage a small, high-performing team with clear ownership. Establish a weekly rhythm focused on what we're testing, learning, and deciding. Create clarity on goals and metrics. Show everyone what excellence looks like.
Partner across the company: Work as a tight unit with Brand and Product Marketing. Partner with Sales, RevOps, and Product to tighten execution and feedback loops. Bring strong points of view backed by data and experimentation.
You've done this before: 8–10+ years building growth systems in B2B SaaS, fintech, or technical products. You've owned channels end-to-end, not just managed agencies.
You're a systems thinker: You see how channels connect, where signals break down, and where friction hides. You think in conversion paths.
You push for rigor: You challenge assumptions, ask for proof, and raise the bar on how decisions get made. You're allergic to "we've always done it this way."
You move fast and learn publicly: Comfortable running tests, admitting what didn't work, and iterating without ego. You'd rather be roughly right and moving than precisely right and stuck.
You're fluent in the channels that matter: Deep expertise in paid media, SEO, lifecycle, and conversion optimization. You don't just manage them; you understand how they work and can get in the weeds when needed.
You're decisive: You use data to inform decisions, but you don't hide behind it. You make calls with incomplete information and course-correct as you learn.
You can influence without authority: Strong cross-functional partner who earns trust through competence and clarity. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making tradeoffs.
You've built a compounding system: We have fewer channels, but they're humming. Each one has a clear role, and we know exactly what works and what doesn't. Our cost per qualified opportunity is trending down while volume trends up.
Conversion paths are dramatically shorter: You've cut the time and steps between "interested" and "booked meeting." MQL-to-meeting conversion increases and buyers tell us it's easy to engage with us.
We're learning faster than anyone: The team runs real experiments every week. We kill bad bets in days, not months. Marketing and Sales can point to specific tests that changed how we operate.
Pipeline is predictable and growing: Marketing-sourced pipeline grows month-over-month across mid-market and enterprise. We hit our quarterly targets consistently, and forecasting actually works.
The team is a model for how to operate: Fast, focused, data-driven. Other teams want to work the way Growth does.
