Position Summary
The Head of HR will serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on leader, responsible for building the people infrastructure to support SmartMoving’s growth. This role will lead all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, organizational development, performance management, total rewards, compliance, and culture. The ideal candidate will combine strategic foresight with operational execution, helping SmartMoving scale sustainably while maintaining a collaborative, values-driven culture.

Basic Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
Master’s degree (preferred) in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, or Business Administration (MBA).
Professional certifications such as:
o SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management)
o SPHR or PHR (HRCI)
Experience
~ 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role.
Proven experience in:
o Strategic workforce planning
o Employee relations and compliance
o Performance management and organizational development
o Talent acquisition and retention strategies
o Compensation and benefits management
o Change management and culture transformation
Experience working closely with executive leadership and Boards of Directors at private equity or venture capital-backed companies to influence company-wide decisions.
Key Skills and Competencies
· Strong strategic thinking and business acumen
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Expertise in employment law and HR compliance
· Proven ability to build and lead high-performing HR teams
