Planning, Forecasting and Insight
- Work with senior merchandise team to develop bi-annual seasonal budgets and present it back to the board. This would involve evaluating, guiding and challenging the product merchandisers on Key KPI’s across the varied collection portfolio and across a wide variety of distribution points
- Key KPI’s involved in the planning process are Net Turnover, Intake Margin, Achieved Margin, Open to Buy, Stock Turn, Price and Option control.
- Proactively highlight risks and opportunities and provide both support and challenge to business stakeholders in relation to the key KPI’s.
- Coordinate key planning activities across the merchandising department and ensure that key KPI’s are aligned with the financial strategy of the company.
- Oversee the monthly WSSI reforecasting process and preparing executive updates to the CFO in conjunction with finance.
- Support logistics function with comprehensive volume models to enable the business to better plan for opportunities while reducing operating costs.
- Be responsible to help continuously develop new insight or aid strategy formulation with relevant analysis.
- Business owner of the merchandise planning system (IBM TM1) and its continued enhancement to improve the planning process
Stock Control
- Ensure the management and product ranging of new store openings and closures.
- Manage the seasonal process of old stock recall.
- Oversee the management of trading priorities and stock management for international operations.
General
- Principle merchandising contact for wholesale.
- Key point of contact for the ad-hoc questions that arise in an entrepreneurial environment
Requirements
Experience
- The role requires strong management of processes and control procedures and a key understanding of numerical merchandising KPI’s.
- Proven experience in establishing and managing relationships with key business decision makers. Both support and challenge commercial managers within the business.
- Ability to confidently liaise with other functions in the business to capture and reconcile data from multiple sources and make justifiable business assumptions on the basis of available data.
Skills
- Strong analytical, reporting and advanced planning skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that can transcend up and down the business structure
- Able to build strong internal relationships at a senior level across a wide variety of business functions
- High attention to detail with a strong due diligence mindset
- Ability to comfortably work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to get into the detail but still have a helicopter view of the current task.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
