The Role
We are looking for a Head of Product Design to lead all product design at ZILO™.
This is not a pure UX research leadership role. We are looking for a strong product design leader who believes great UI and strong UX are inseparable and who builds teams of designers that can own both.
You will define the visual language of our platform, build scalable component-based design systems, and ensure workflows are intuitive across complex fintech use cases. You will work in deep partnership with Product and Engineering to ensure design is practical, buildable, and reusable.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design Leadership
- Own the end-to-end product design strategy across all ZILO products.
- Lead both UI craft and UX thinking — ensuring elegant interfaces and intuitive workflows.
- Translate complex financial and operational processes into clear, usable product experiences.
- Maintain high design standards without compromising delivery pace.
Building a Strong UI-First Design Team
- Hire and develop UI designers who are strong in UX thinking.
- Set expectations that designers own flows, interactions, usability, and visual execution.
- Avoid silos between UI and UX — promote full-stack product designers.
Design Systems & Component Reusability
- Establish and enforce a scalable design system.
- Ensure components are modular, reusable, and aligned to engineering architecture.
- Reduce duplication and one-off design work.
- Drive efficiency through repeatable patterns and consistent interaction models.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Create tight alignment between Product and Engineering.
- Embed design early in discovery and backlog refinement.
- Ensure feasibility and practicality of designs before sprint commitment.
- Improve delivery predictability through better upfront design collaboration.
Brand & Consistency
- Own product UI consistency and brand governance.
- Ensure visual coherence across modules and releases.
- Maintain design documentation and standards.
Requirements
Experience

- 3+ years leading product design teams in B2B SaaS or fintech.
- Strong hands-on UI background with deep understanding of interaction design.
- Proven experience building and scaling design systems.
- Experience partnering closely with engineering teams in agile environments.
- Experience designing complex, data-heavy enterprise platforms.
- A strong design craftsperson — not purely strategic.
- Believes UI quality and UX thinking are inseparable.
- Systems thinker with attention to detail.
- Comfortable operating in a scaling fintech environment.
- Commercially pragmatic — knows when to optimise vs perfect.
Desirable
- Experience in transfer agency, asset servicing, or financial platforms.
- Experience building design capability from early-stage or scale-up environments.
