What you’ll be doing:
HR Leadership and Business Partnering
- Act as the senior HR lead for Canada, providing strategic and practical guidance to leaders.
- Partner closely with site leadership to align people strategies with business priorities.
- Maintain a strong onsite presence across locations to stay connected to operations and teams.
Employee Relations and Case Management
- Lead complex employee relations matters including performance, investigations, and workplace issues.
- Ensure consistent and compliant handling of all cases in line with legislation and policy.
- Coach leaders to confidently manage employee matters and strengthen capability.
Employment Law and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial employment legislation.
- Oversee HR policies, procedures, and documentation for Canada.
- Provide clear guidance on legislative changes and business impact.
Talent, Performance and Development
- Lead the execution of talent, performance, and development frameworks across Canada.
- Support leaders in driving high performance through clear expectations and accountability.
- Identify capability gaps and enable targeted development initiatives.
- Elevate hiring quality through structured interview and selection practices.
Reward, Benefits and Payroll
- Provide input on compensation and benefits aligned with market and internal frameworks.
- Oversee Canadian payroll to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong governance.
- Partner with Finance and external providers to maintain data integrity and evolve payroll processes.
Culture, Engagement and Wellbeing
- Foster a high performing, inclusive culture aligned with company values.
- Support engagement and wellbeing initiatives that enhance employee experience.
- Build trust across the organization as a credible and approachable HR partner.
Group HR Initiatives
- Lead the local execution of global HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with Canadian requirements.
- Play a key role in system implementations, including Workday, driving adoption and capability.
- Partner with global teams to align local practices with broader strategy.
People Data, Systems and Analytics
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of HR data within systems.
- Leverage data and insights to inform decision making and workforce planning.
- Deliver reporting that supports both local leadership and global requirements.
Requirements
- A post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, with a CHRP designation considered an asset
- 8 plus years of experience in a generalist HR Manager or Senior HR Business Partner role, ideally within a multi-site environment
- A solid understanding of HR policies, practices, and employment legislation, with exposure across multiple provinces considered a strong advantage
- Proven ability to operate independently in a stand-alone HR role, with confidence and accountability
- Experience supporting or implementing broader HR initiatives within a matrix or global organization
- Confidence managing complex employee relations matters from start to finish with sound judgement and professionalism
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels
- A practical, hands-on approach combined with strong commercial awareness
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence
- A proactive, self-driven mindset balanced with a collaborative team approach
