Job Summary:
As a Transportation Specialist, you are responsible for international transportation execution including international freight quotes, coordination approvals, and ensuring end to end follow through from booking through final delivery. You will partner cross-functionally to maintain shipment visibility, manage documentation, resolve issues and ensure international shipments move compliantly, on time, and within cost expectations.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:
- Own the end‑to‑end international transportation process, including freight quoting, carrier selection, booking, execution, and final delivery confirmation.
- Manage and evaluate international freight quotes to ensure cost‑effective, compliant, and service‑aligned transportation solutions.
- Coordinate international shipment execution across air, ocean, and ground modes, ensuring timely pickup, transit visibility, and delivery.
- Proactively monitor shipments, identify risks or delays, and drive resolution through carrier, forwarder, and internal partner coordination.
- Ensure all international shipping documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and required export/import records.
- Maintain shipment files and records to support audit readiness, billing accuracy, and customer or regulatory requirements.
- Utilize internal systems, dashboards, carrier portals, and enterprise tools to track shipment progress, document status updates, and record proof of delivery.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless shipment execution and information flow.
- Resolve shipment discrepancies, documentation issues, and carrier exceptions, documenting root causes and outcomes within internal systems.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline international transportation processes, improve visibility, and reduce transit or documentation issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2 years’ experience working in an automated office environment and expediting experience and 1 year experience of international shipping coordination. May include military personnel who have been formerly trained or have relevant experience in lieu of civilian experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to talk and conduct business in a confident, articulate, and professional manner.
- Highly meticulous and organized to execute multiple tasks with different requirements, adhering to deadlines.
- Demonstrates strong team building qualities such as assisting team members and collaborating with internal departments of varying levels of expertise, when necessary.
- Embrace new techniques and best practices.
- PC proficiency including carrier software and Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to obtain Hazmat certification. (Current certification preferred).
- Self-driven and proactive in nature with a strong sense of accountability that takes initiative to resolve challenges and complete tasks under minimal supervision.
- Holds U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (green card holder).
