DIS-TRAN Steel is looking for an experienced IT Security Administrator to safeguard our enterprise systems and operational technology (OT) environments from evolving cybersecurity threats. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our manufacturing operations remain secure, compliant, and uninterrupted.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, or infrastructure supportStrong understanding of identity and access management, endpoint protection, and network security principlesExperience supporting security operations in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment preferredWorking knowledge of Windows server environments, enterprise applications, and database systemsFamiliarity with regulatory compliance, audit support, and security documentation practicesCompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent certification required; advanced security certifications preferred

Maintain a secure and stable IT and operational technology environment that supports uninterrupted production operationsProactively monitor and respond to potential security threats in a timely, risk-informed mannerApply risk-based decision-making when evaluating security controls and incident response actionsBalance cybersecurity controls with operational continuity to avoid disruption to plant systemsMaintain accurate, audit-ready documentation to support compliance and insurance requirementsDemonstrate ownership of assigned systems, ensuring configurations, updates, and monitoring remain current and effectiveCommunicate clearly with IT, engineering, and plant teams regarding risks and mitigation plansContribute to business continuity, disaster recovery, and ransomware preparedness planningServe as a dependable backup resource for core infrastructure and system administration functions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Security Administration & Operations:Administer and monitor endpoint protection, mobile device management, and threat detection platformsManage identity and access management systems, including role-based access, privileged access controls, and multi-factor authenticationMonitor firewall, VPN, and network security systems across enterprise and plant environmentsMaintain logging, alerting, and security monitoring tools for full system visibilitySupport incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, remediation, and documentationMaintain secure configurations across collaboration platforms, cloud services, and email systemsReview vendor and third-party security requirements and assist with risk assessmentsMaintain documentation to support audits, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiativesServe as the security representative in IT and manufacturing-related technical projectsManufacturing & Operational Technology Security:Partner with engineering and plant operations teams to secure production environmentsSupport industrial control system security and plant network segmentation initiativesAssist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning effortsBackup System Administration Responsibilities:Provide backup support for servers, databases, enterprise applications, and user systemsAssist with system patching, updates, backups, and performance monitoringSupport user account management, hardware deployment, and helpdesk escalationsParticipate in infrastructure upgrades, deployments, and system improvement initiativesMaintain documentation of infrastructure configurations and support procedures
