SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Reports to the Senior Project Manager, Innovation, standardize, configure, and optimize preventive maintenance, work order, and inventory processes across the City’s EAM platform, supporting reliable and efficient service delivery across all operational divisions.
Performance will be measured through achievement of defined metrics for assigned projects including maintaining a ≥ 90% preventative maintenance compliance rate, achieving a registry accuracy ≥ 98% during asset or inventory counts, backlog of corrective work orders ≤ 4 weeks average age, annual reduction in unplanned work orders by ≥ 10%, and ensuring 100% standardization of work order templates implemented across all divisions and sections.
GENERAL DUTIES
Designs, configures, monitors and supports all inventory practices including preventive maintenance, work order, and inventory functions within the EAM system, supporting divisional operations. This role ensures maintenance activities, PM scheduling, and part controls are consistent and optimized across all departments and enabling for EAM capabilities for effective reporting and analytics and capital planning.
Ensures maintenance activities, inventory controls, and resource planning are standardized and optimized across all operational Business Units by ensuring consistent PM scheduling, inventory accuracy, and asset tracking.
Supports corporate outcomes in operational excellence, financial accountability, and service reliability by ensuring work management processes and inventory systems function efficiently across the organization.
Organizational Interactions
Works closely with business units across multiple divisions (e.g., Transit, Fleet, Facilities, Hamilton Water, Roads, Parks, etc.) to define work and inventory standards; collaborates with IT for configuration, Finance for trade rates and costing, and Procurement for supplier data.
Engages with Hexagon and implementation partners to refine functionality and address system performance issues.
Organizational outcomes include consistent and optimized maintenance management supporting reliable service delivery, minimized downtime, and efficient asset lifecycle management.
All EAM roles contribute directly to the City’s Asset Management and Transformation outcomes by:
Enhancing data quality and reliability across all infrastructure classes.
Supporting compliance with legislative and corporate AM standards.
Driving efficient service delivery through optimized system and process performance.
Building organizational capacity and continuous learning within EAM and AM functions.
Configure and standardize work order templates, job plans, and status codes.
Develop, maintain and support preventive maintenance programs, schedules and optimization.
Oversee inventory control practices including part associations with assets and reorder points.
Monitor and provide analysis on maintenance backlog, PM compliance, and resource planning including utilization metrics.
Collaborate with Fleet, Water, and other Public Works Operations staff on implementation.
Participate in cross-functional collaboration and communication including continuous improvement and standardization to drive effective reporting and analytics and capital planning.
Responsible for maintaining the integrity and governance of all asset-related data within the City’s Enterprise Asset
Performs other duties as assigned which are related to responsibilities of the job.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES A VALID CLASS "G” DRIVER'S LICENCE AND PROOF THEREOF IS REQUIRED AFTER HIRE.
