Junior Product Designer

We're Zocks, a venture capital-backed AI startup changing the world of financial services, and other industries that value security and privacy. Our founding team built their careers working on real-time communication products, building enterprise platforms, and crafting tools for some of the most security-conscious industries. With experience gained from industry leaders like Twilio, IBM, Microsoft, and Hearsay Systems, we're using AI to bridge human conversations with enterprise systems, starting with financial services. 

Our focus, although simple, is powerful: reinventing business operations and transforming the areas that often get bogged down by slow, inefficient processes. Our innovative platform allows people to communicate naturally, while we capture the information they need, so they can avoid data entry, streamline their operations, and spend more time on what matters most: their clients.

Our product sits at the intersection of AI, financial services, and enterprise software. Design is at the center of how we make that complexity feel simple, and AI feel reliable, and we're looking for a junior designer who wants to learn what that actually takes.

You'll work with senior designers on a genuinely complex product: an AI platform that helps financial advisors communicate naturally while we handle the data entry, notes, and admin that usually eat their day. The problems are novel, the tech is real, and the design work actually matters.

This is a role for someone early in their career who's serious about the craft. You won't be shielded from hard problems, you'll be mentored through them. This is a place to grow, not just a stepping stone.

- Contribute to product design across our AI platform, from early concepts to production-ready UI, working closely with senior designers throughout

- Help grow our design system: thinking in components, states, and patterns, not just individual screens

- Collaborate with product managers and engineers, understanding the technical and business context behind every decision

- Use AI tools as part of your process. We're an AI company, and we expect curiosity about what that means for design

This role is for someone early in their career who's serious about getting better. You don't need to have everything figured out, but you need to care deeply about the craft and be hungry to grow.

- Curiosity. You ask more questions than you give answers, and you're comfortable not knowing yet

- Hunger to grow. You take feedback well, act on it fast, and come back sharper

- Taste. You have strong instincts about what makes something feel right, and you can articulate why

- AI fluency. You're actively exploring what AI means for how you design, not waiting to find out

- Craft at the detail level. Spacing, hierarchy, interaction states, edge cases. The small things that compound into trust

- Comfort with complexity. Our product is technically deep. You're interested in understanding the details, not designing around them

No need for fancy resume, no Figma links, no PDFs. Build us a case study webpage using AI tools and walk us through a project, real or self-initiated, from problem to solution.

We care about the thinking. How did you unpack the problem? What did you learn? What would you do differently? That's what we're evaluating.
