You will lead a high-impact squad of 4–6 engineers responsible for the full payments journey within a major personal savings division. This role balances technical delivery with architectural influence, requiring you to design resilient, distributed systems while mentoring engineers and leveraging GenAI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making.

What you will do

• Lead the technical delivery and architectural design of scalable, event-driven payment systems and transaction journeys.

• Coach and mentor a squad of engineers, guiding their professional development and fostering a “you build it, you run it” DevOps culture.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business needs into incremental, high-quality technical outcomes that drive prosperity for families.

The ideal candidate

• Proven experience leading engineering squads and designing distributed systems using technologies like Python, NodeJS, or TypeScript.

• Deep understanding of TDD, continuous deployment, and cloud-native infrastructure within AWS or GCP environments.

• Pragmatic thinker who prioritizes simple, resilient designs and measures success through business impact rather than code volume.
