About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Frontend Tech Team Lead to guide the development of our embedded sportsbook iFrame, trading interfaces, and internal operational tools. You will lead a team of engineers building high-performance, real-time applications using React, GraphQL, WebSockets, Apollo, and AWS.
Your work will impact the speed, accuracy, and reliability of our odds delivery, trading workflows, partner integrations, and customer-facing embeddable experiences. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on coding abilities, and demonstrated experience building data-dense UIs in real-time environments.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead, mentor, and support a team of frontend engineers across iFrame development, trading tools, and internal applications.
Define and uphold frontend architecture and best practices for real-time, mission-critical systems.
Ensure the codebase is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for high-frequency data updates.
Drive technical decision-making, evaluate new technologies, and guide long-term technical strategy.
Frontend Development
Architect and build React applications for:
Sportsbook iFrames embedded across partner sites.
Trading dashboards with high-frequency data, odds monitoring, and decision-support tools.
Internal tools used for operations, risk management, content editing, and configuration.
Implement GraphQL queries, mutations, and subscriptions for live odds, events, markets, and trading actions.
Use WebSockets for low-latency updates and real-time synchronization between clients and backend services.
Optimize render performance, caching (Apollo), and state management to handle heavy throughput.
Collaboration & Delivery
Work closely with Product Managers, Trading teams, UX/UI, and Backend Engineering to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
Collaborate with backend teams on GraphQL schema design, subscription architecture, performance considerations, and data contracts.
Partner with DevOps to deploy, monitor, and optimize hosted solutions on AWS.
Lead sprint planning, architectural discussions, code reviews, and release management.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of professional frontend engineering experience, including 2+ years in a tech lead or senior role.
Advanced expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture.
Deep experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client (caching, normalization, subscriptions).
Proven experience building real-time UIs using WebSockets or similar technologies.
Experience with cloud-based deployments and observability (AWS preferred).
Strong communication skills and experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing data and priorities.
Nice to Have
Experience in sports betting, trading systems, real-time financial applications, or other latency-sensitive domains.
Familiarity with AWS services such as AppSync, Lambda, CloudFront, DynamoDB, ECS, or S3.
Knowledge of design systems, component libraries, or micro-frontend architecture.
Experience with automated testing tools (Jest, Testing Library, Cypress).
Background building embeddable widgets, iFrames, or multi-tenant UI platforms.
