Job Title: Lead .NET Developer
Client: Metropolitan Council (Met Council)
Location: 390 Robert Street North, Saint Paul, MN 55101
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite per week)
Interview Mode: In-person interview required
Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of complex .NET and cloud-based applications
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams; enforce coding standards and best practices
Partner with solution architects, product owners, and business analysts to translate business needs into technical solutions
Implement solutions using Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design principles
Integrate applications with third-party APIs, databases, and Azure services
Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability across environments
Lead code reviews and drive continuous quality improvements
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and development issues
Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and accessibility standards
Contribute to long-term technical strategy, architecture, and technology selection
Create technical documentation and lead knowledge transfer sessions
Qualifications
15+ years of total software development experience
5+ years of application development using .NET Framework and Microsoft technologies
5+ years in a Technical Team Lead / Lead .NET Engineer role, including mentoring junior developers
7+ years of experience with Angular, React, or Blazor
5+ years of experience developing in Azure and deploying through CI/CD pipelines
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
Degree in Information Technology or related field (BS, BA, or Associate)
5+ years leading collaboration between business and technical teams to translate requirements into designs
8+ years with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
3+ years with Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Services, Event Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps, and Azure Identity (CIAM)
5+ years with API design, microservices, distributed systems, and Azure Application Performance Monitoring
10+ years writing automated unit tests
5+ years with SQL Server or Azure SQL database design and development
Strong experience with Entity Framework and performance analysis tools
Experience working in a hybrid onsite/remote environment
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams on large enterprise projects
