POSITION SUMMARY
Empire State Realty Trust is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lobby Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service to tenants and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment at our properties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet and greet all tenants and visitorsCheck-in & issue visitor badges to all guests at the Lobby Desk via security systemAnswer all incoming phone calls to the building and dispatch accordinglyCommunicate information to the building staff via telephone or two-way radioMonitor all Cameras at the Lobby DeskRefer to the Emergency Contact Book located at the Lobby Desk in the event of an emergency and follow protocols indicatedRespond to elevator emergency intercom and report entrapments to elevator maintenance contractor and Management Office.Prepare incident reports as directed by supervisor.Clean Lobby Desk regularly (wipe down counter and monitors, remove excess trash)Periodically check all Passenger Elevators and notify on-site Porters if cleaning is requiredPeriodically check and ensure the sidewalk in front of the building entrance is safe and clearReport any lighting issues within the Lobby Space to the Management Office Report any damages within the Lobby Space to the Management OfficeMaintain Logbooks, including but not limited to, Elevator Service Log, 311 Call Log, Incident LogMaintain positive working relationships with co-workersObserve weather conditions and determine if lobby mats should be put down/picked upRespond to elevator malfunctioning to elevator maintenance contractor as directed by supervisorMonitor lobby for potential safety, security issues and report issues to supervisorProvide freight elevator breaksWork as directed by Supervisor or designee
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
A successful Lobby Attendant creates a welcoming and secure environment by greeting tenants and visitors, managing check-ins, and monitoring security systems. They respond promptly to emergencies, maintain accurate logbooks, and communicate effectively with building staff. Success includes keeping the lobby clean and safe, reporting issues quickly, and demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and strong customer service at all times.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Positive, can-do attitude Must obtain both Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) and Emergency Action Plan (EAP) licensing within one (1) year of employment at this position Must have the ability to monitor and implement all aspects of the Fire Command Station functions
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar roleHigh School Diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be available to work evenings/overtime if needed Must be able to work on higher floors within a high-rise as neededMust be able to lift 50 pounds Must be able to bend, stretch, climb stairs and walk for extended periods of time
