About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our production plant, machinery and site services operating at their best. Based at our Tamworth site, you’ll carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and respond quickly to breakdowns, helping us hit daily production targets and achieve our Despatch On Time goals.
Your work will directly support operational stability, quality consistency and site resilience. By reducing downtime, improving reliability and maintaining high safety standards, you’ll help ensure we deliver for our customers, every single day.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all production plant, machinery and site servicesDiagnose faults quickly and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime and production disruptionAccurately record all maintenance work within the maintenance management system, including uptime and downtime reportingSupport operational KPIs including equipment availability, energy performance, maintenance cost control and budget adherenceLiaise with and supervise third-party contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time and to the required standardAssist in maintaining critical services including HVAC, compressed air, electrical systems and print/insertion equipmentPromote and uphold Health & Safety standards, ensuring compliance with site procedures and participating in audits and risk assessments where requiredMaintain high housekeeping standards within engineering workshops and production areasCollaborate with production and departmental managers to maintain material flow, plant productivity and operational resilienceIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with LEAN manufacturing principlesProactively suggest cost-saving opportunities and improvements across maintenance and facilities managementUndertake additional duties as required to support business needs
About You
Education aligned to recognised mechanical and/or electrical engineering standardsProven experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or production environmentStrong understanding of LEAN principles and practical application within an operational settingConfident decision-making ability with the courage to challenge when needed to support a great customer experienceFlexible and adaptable approach to meet daily production deadlinesAbility to think clearly under pressure and respond effectively in fast-paced environmentsExcellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyTeam-focused mindset that promotes a positive and collaborative working environmentHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality standardsProactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solvingDesirable (but not essential):
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled EngineeringHealth & Safety awareness such as IOSH Working SafelyIPAF, PASMA or other access equipment certificationExperience within print, packaging, insertion or automated production environments

Working Hours & Shift Pattern
This role operates on a two-week alternating shift pattern, averaging 37.5 hours per week, covering Monday to Sunday.
Week 1: Mon–Wed on, Thurs–Fri off, Sat–Sun on
Week 2: Mon–Tue off, Wed–Fri on, Sat–Sun off
Shifts are 10 hours Monday–Friday and 9.5 hours Saturday–Sunday (including breaks).
Weekday shifts:
AM: 11:30am – 9:30pm
PM: 12:30pm – 10:30pm
Weekend shifts:
AM: 11:00am – 8:30pm
PM: 12:00pm – 9:30pm
You may be required to work additional days, extended shifts, and alternate hours in line with business needs and during peak times.
