Your Job:
As the Manager, Logistics EMEA, you will be responsible for developing and implementing transportation strategies and models to meet customer demands and business needs. You will manage all aspects of transportation for the EMEA region, both inbound and outbound (all modes) transportation, claims and import and export shipping. This role will oversee origin fulfilment of Brooks EMEA Distributor business.

As a leader within EMEA Operations organization, you will lead the execution of our Inbound and Outbound Transportation strategy. You will partner closely with the 3PL Distribution Manager and the Trade Compliance Manager on engaging cross-functional teams across Brooks and 3PL and other vendor resources to ensure world class Transportation operations in terms of capacity, quality and on-time execution. In collaboration with the 3PL Operations Manager, you will work with and influence leaders across the organization to optimize costs and implement best practices, systems and equipment with a focus on Lean processes.

You will manage the transportation budget and play a key role in developing short and long-term strategic plans to enable sustainable, optimized and scalable growth for Brooks EMEA. You will lead and effectively manage the EMEA Transportation team to ensure seamless execution of department programs and initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • TRANSPORTATION STRATEGY & OPERATIONS
  • Manage inbound and outbound transportation operations for the EMEA region by achieving or exceeding KPI's to meet delivery requirements, customer demand and business needs – including sales channels of wholesale, ecommerce, and international distributors across footwear and apparel product categories.
  • Develop and manage the transportation operational costs and expenses within budget and operate within budgetary guidelines.
  •  Support the development and implementation of a transportation strategy which includes development of a world class transportation model in EMEA utilizing best practices in all areas.
  • Support and Champion execution of operational updates and changes with EMEA carriers and parcel delivery services that are required to implement new capabilities and/or drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage the integration of the supply chain network, both from a systems and operational process perspective,  within EMEA to enable  seamless service to customers
  • Design, implement and manage a strong Transportation claims process across EMEA
  • Oversee processes to ensure the efficient flow of product from origin suppliers to customers

  • CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
  • Collaborate with the EMEA Operations Director, EMEA 3PL Operations Manager, EMEA Trade Compliance Manager, HQ Transportation Team, Origin Transportation Manager and the EMEA Territory teams to improve service to Brooks customers and identify cost savings opportunities on how Brooks transports products.
  • Work closely with Brooks’ Carrier Managers, origin-based production teams and factories to introduce new strategic transportation routing options, collaborating on new requirements and development of new processes
  • Collaborate, develop and implement cross-functional process improvements with internal departments
  • Manage special programs for footwear and apparel including VAS (value added service), sales samples, and other special programs as required.
  • Responsible for adapting global transportation policies to EMEA transportation network.

  • EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with current EMEA carrier and parcel delivery service providers, source new vendors and negotiate pricing and contracts.
  • Negotiate transportation lead times and ensure carriers hit targets to produce a high level of customer service
  • Manage freight contracts or service agreements with ocean carriers and logistics service providers.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract details with logistics service providers.  Take recommendations to Senior leadership.
  • Perform quarterly business reviews (QBR) with service providers

  • ANALYTICS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
  • Create and maintain logistics SOP: standard operating procedures, work manuals, and vendor guides for both footwear and apparel
  • Lead analysis of EMEA transportation data and provide recommendations to EMEA Operations Director on opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Create and maintain benchmarking reports and metrics for performance measurables and quality management.
  • Keep current in fields and apply best practices in all areas of responsibilities

  • TEAM MANAGEMENT & COACHING
  • Manage, lead, and train team members   to ensure execution of job responsibilities efficiently and at a high level of quality and productivity
  • Guide team in performing 3PL bid process and oversee the planning and analysis, final recommendation, selection, legal review, contract execution, and testing and implementation phase.  
  • Lead, coach and inspire  team members in order to achieve team, business and customer results.
  • Manage (including goal setting, performance review, hiring decisions, team culture, etc.) and support the career development of direct reports to ensure job satisfaction, retention and to identify and develop bench strength.
  • Cross train team members and establish out of office coverage plan.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with key partners such as Trade Compliance, 3PL Distribution, Market Supply Planning, Customer Service and Business Planning.

  • ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Accountable for results of all EMEA Transportation  costs and service metrics
  • Ensure physical custody and overall safeguarding of the inventory while goods are in transit

  • Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related major (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years’ experience in an operations environment and leading employees.
  • 3+ years management experience
  • Experience with vendor contract negotiating.
  • Results oriented with a strong focus on the customer (both internally and externally).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all of the pieces fit together and affect one another.
  • Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments.
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Fluency in English and German, other language skills are a great plus (French, Italian and/or Spanish).
