The Technical Marketing team is a small technical group consisting of both engineers and geologists who are responsible for ensuring coal and coke quality is on spec for all EVR customers. The team collaborates with mine planning, operations, processing, logistics and marketing to ensure that both current and future state coal and coke quality is understood. Technical marketing is also responsible for bulk testing of coal, and developing all EVR product specifications for delivery to the markets. The Technical Marketing team represents EVR with global coal standard committees such as CISERA, ASTM and ISO. The team also conducts all research studies within EVR on the impact of external factors such as weathering or chemical addition, on coal and coke quality.
In this role, you will:
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policiesResponsible for data interrogation of weekly quality performance using multiple platforms, such as Power BIResearch project on influence of mineralogy on coking performance, including sampling, coordinating testing with external labs and interpretation of resultsPresent at weekly meetings with mine site teams on quality performance Compile and deliver monthly quality performance of Operations to technical marketing teamParticipate in lab auditsCreate and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Requirements:
Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Geology, Chemical or Process EngineeringA valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictionsMotivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneouslyStrong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate and present complex ideas and technical information to all levels Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneouslyProven ability to work effectively in a team environment and to build relationships across multi-disciplinary technical teamsGood trouble shooting, critical thinking, and decision-making abilitiesStrong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite® package: Excel, Word, and Outlook
