About the role:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Process Maintenance, the Pipefitter is responsible for installing and maintaining piping systems in our processing plants.
The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.
Schedule: 4x4 shift schedule consisting of days and nights.

In this role you will:
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies Fabricate and install piping arrangements for slurry, water, and refuse lines ranging from 2" to 36"Diagnose piping system failures in the processing facility Disassemble and reassemble system components Weld, cement, and thread joints to join pipes using soldering and welding equipment Maintain, create and record work order records In certain components of this role, it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free seal.
Requirements:
Registered 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Pipefitter Apprentice Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specificationsSmall Water and Small Wastewater systems ticket would be an asset Valid driver’s license Working knowledge of basic computer systems (Microsoft Office®) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications Ability to work independently or as part of a team and to work cross functionally between tradesExperience in a mining environment is an asset
