In this role, you will:
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policiesImplementing hygiene program elements and creating exposure control plansExperience working effectively with hourly and management employees as well as Occupational Health and Safety CommitteesAssist with optimizing the industrial hygiene program which will include conducting ergonomic evaluations, tracking equipment inventory, and conducting surveysCollect a variety of occupational hygiene samples including noise, particulate, and other airborne contaminantsSupport the hearing conservation program, chemical management plan and respiratory protection programManage contractor pre-clearance and access systemsFacilitate safety training for hourly and management employeesCreate and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Requirements:
Working towards an Undergraduate/Graduate degree or diploma in Occupational Hygiene, Occupational and Environmental Health or Industrial HygieneA valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictions is preferredMotivated self-starters, able to work under minimal supervision and be able to manage several projects simultaneouslyComfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outdoors and able to operate vehicles, at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrainStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levelsExcellent computer skills with the ability to track and analyze data as well as manage project timelinesStrong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel is necessary, and a working knowledge of PowerPoint and AccessImpeccable record keeping and excellent organizational skillsExperience working in mining or heavy industry considered an asset
