Key Responsibilities

Lead the Policy & Advocacy Agenda

• Take ownership of Logistics UK’s policy work in Northern Ireland, identifying key issues, shaping priorities and championing member interests.

• Build expertise across all relevant topics, staying ahead of emerging trends and briefing colleagues to support alignment across the organisation.

Influence Government & Key Stakeholders

• Develop strong relationships with senior government officials and industry partners to shape thinking and influence decision making.
• Create compelling policy proposals and positions that lead debate and reflect the needs and insights of our members.

Engage & Support Our Members

• Manage Logistics UK’s Northern Ireland member meeting and other working groups, facilitating discussion, achieving consensus, and ensuring their views are powerfully represented.

• Deliver high quality reports, consultation responses, briefings, and presentations for a wide range of audiences.

Represent Logistics UK Publicly

• Present confidently at events, conferences and member meetings, communicating complex issues with clarity and impact.

• Support the development of media messaging and contribute insights to our public affairs activity.

Collaborate Across the Organisation

• Provide expert policy support to colleagues across directorates, ensuring consistency of message and supporting wider organisational goals.

• Play a key role in cross‑functional projects and wider business initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree educated in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
• Confidence to represent the organisation externally at senior levels.
• A collaborative team player who contributes to broader policy, communications, and commercial objectives.
• Understanding of how public policy is developed and how to influence it effectively.
• Interest in logistics, transport, supply chains, or a willingness to develop your expertise.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly across Ireland and the UK.
