POSITION SUMMARY
The In‑House Recruiter will manage the full‑cycle recruiting process for both field and office positions across Tri State General Contractors. This role is responsible for sourcing qualified candidates, reviewing and screening applications, coordinating interviews and skills testing, conducting reference checks, and maintaining accurate applicant tracking. The Recruiter works closely with the HR team and hiring managers to ensure a smooth, professional, and timely hiring process while supporting Tri State’s culture and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to:
- Create, post, and manage job advertisements across multiple job boards, social platforms, trade organizations, and community resources.
- Source candidates for a variety of construction roles, including Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators, Foremen, Skilled Trades, and office staff.
- Actively promote and manage Tri State’s employee referral program.
- Review incoming resumes and applications from all recruiting channels.
- Screen candidates against position requirements, certifications, and experience.
- Conduct initial phone and virtual interviews to assess qualifications, safety awareness, work ethic, and cultural fit.
- Communicate regularly with HR and hiring managers regarding candidate progress and feedback.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Ensure timely follow‑up and professional communication with all applicants.
- Schedule and coordinate skills testing appointments as required for specific roles.
- Track testing results and ensure hiring managers receive accurate, timely information.
- Conduct professional reference checks and verify employment history.
- Utilize available resources to ensure candidates meet Tri State’s standards for reliability, safety, and professionalism.
- Assist with background screening coordination in compliance with company policy.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of applicants, interviews, referrals, and hiring decisions within the applicant tracking system.
- Track recruiting metrics such as time‑to‑fill, source effectiveness, and referral activity.
- Prepare regular recruitment updates for HR leadership and hiring managers.
- Track employee referrals and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinate referral bonus payouts after the new hire completes 90 days of employment, in accordance with company policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–4+ years of recruiting experience, preferably within construction, general contracting, or skilled trades.
- Strong understanding of construction roles, work environments, and hiring challenges.
- Experience posting and managing job ads across multiple platforms.
- Excellent interviewing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple open roles and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft 365.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
