This is a great opportunity for an Offshore Bookkeeper Lead to join a company that values growth, innovation, and operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Full cycle bookkeeping for our clients in their accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) on an accrual basis.
- Design, document, and maintain bookkeeping processes.
- Lead the hiring, onboarding, and training of offshore bookkeepers in the Philippines.
- Manage the offshore bookkeeping team to ensure consistent quality, accuracy, and adherence to company’s standards.
- Identify recurring issues and proactively coach team members to resolve root causes and improve overall quality and consistency.
- Act as the primary coordination point between offshore and onshore teams to ensure smooth handoffs, clear ownership, and minimal rework.
- Enforce documented bookkeeping SOPs and continuously refine processes based on recurring issues and operational feedback.
- Perform capacity planning and workload management.
- Assist with various ad-hoc client requests.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years of experience working with Canadian or US clients.
- Candidates with fewer years of experience but a strong foundational background in Canadian or US accounting/bookkeeping can be considered.
- Experience in the tech or consulting industry is preferred.
- Prior experience working as a senior bookkeeper or team lead.
- Experience using Quickbooks Online and/or Xero and proficient in using Excel.
- Experience working in a client serving accounting role.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including fluency in English.
- Experience documenting processes and creating clear, repeatable SOPs.
- Excellent time management and self-management skills.
- Solid problem solving and analysis skills.
- High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
- Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive.
- Ability to build strong connections with clients and team members.
