Redwood Strategy Group is seeking a Software Developer – Planning & Analytics Systems to support USSOCOM financial planning and resource management applications. This role emphasizes software design, development, and system integration in enterprise planning and analytics environments.
The ideal candidate brings strong
programming and data integration skills (e.g.,
VB.NET, SQL, ETL/data pipelines) and the ability to quickly learn and extend Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) platforms such as OneStream. Experience with DoD financial systems or the PPBE process is beneficial but not the primary focus of the role.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance software solutions that support USSOCOM resource planning, analysis, and reporting. You will apply computer science and engineering principles to build business logic, automate data flows, integrate enterprise data sources, and maintain high-performing planning and analytics applications.
You will collaborate with functional users, system architects, and data teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions in a mission-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain custom business logic, utilities, and integrations within planning and analytics platforms (e.g., OneStream or similar COTS tools).
Develop and maintain
VB.NET-based business rules, scripts, and application extensions.
Build and support data pipelines and integrations using SQL Server, ETL processes, and enterprise data sources.
Analyze user and system requirements and translate them into effective technical designs and software solutions.
Maintain system performance, data integrity, and reliability across development and production environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve application, data, and integration issues.
Support system testing, deployment, upgrades, and enhancements.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, code documentation, and system specifications.
Provide analytic and reporting support to enable informed planning and decision-making.
Participate in technical working groups and collaborate across distributed teams.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of related experience in software development, system integration, or enterprise application development.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field).
Strong programming experience with VB.NET or similar object-oriented languages (e.g., C#, .NET).
Strong experience with SQL Server, relational databases, and data modeling.
Experience developing data integrations, ETL processes, or data pipelines.
Ability to learn and extend Commercial Off-the-Shelf platforms quickly.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with OneStream Planning & Analytics or similar enterprise planning tools.
Familiarity with DoD financial systems or the PPBE process.
Prior experience supporting USSOCOM or SOF organizations.
