The OMF Expert will lead the planning, technical assessment, and optimization of Operations & Maintenance facilities for a major rail/HSR programme. The role requires deep expertise in depot planning, operational assessments, maintenance strategies, and integration of O&M requirements into design and delivery phases.
- Lead the planning and functional design of Operations & Maintenance Facilities, including depot layouts, stabling yards, workshop facilities, wash plants, and supporting infrastructure.
- Conduct operational assessments to define capacity, throughput, maintenance workflows, fleet requirements, and operational performance benchmarks.
- Develop O&M strategies covering preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, spare parts strategy, and lifecycle asset management.
- Review and validate technical designs to ensure alignment with railway operational principles, safety standards, RAMS requirements, and international best practices.
- Coordinate with systems, rolling stock, track, and civil teams to ensure full integration of O&M needs across the project lifecycle.
- Prepare O&M facility specifications, technical reports, operational concepts, and interface control documents.
- Assess staffing, training, and competency requirements for depot operations and maintenance teams.
- Perform capacity modelling and simulation for depot operations, train movements, and maintenance scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support procurement activities, including evaluation of OEM proposals, technical submissions, and equipment specifications (e.g., lifting systems, wheel lathes, washing equipment, signalling within depots).
- Provide expert input during testing, commissioning, and readiness reviews for O&M facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Railway Engineering preferred).
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in railway depot planning, O&M facility design, or maintenance operations.
- Strong knowledge of HSR, metro, or heavy rail depot operations, workflows, and equipment standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in operational assessment, maintenance engineering, and depot capacity planning.
- Familiarity with international railway standards (EN, UIC, AREMA, ISO) is an advantage.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments, ideally on major rail megaprojects.
- Strong analytical, report‑writing, and stakeholder‑management skills.
