Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will:
- Process fortnightly, monthly and off-cycle payrolls
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work, NES, Modern Awards and ATO requirements
- Manage superannuation, PAYG, STP Phase 2, terminations and complex payroll scenarios
- Support audits, remediation projects and award reviews
- Partner with People, Finance and operational leaders to resolve payroll queries
- Contribute to annual remuneration reviews and compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Payroll roles,
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation including Superannuation, Tax, Long Service Leave, Terminations
- Demonstrate sound Modern Award interpretation
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, in particular Excel
- Experience working in a high-volume payroll environment
- Experience working with payroll systems (Dayforce preferred, but not essential) and time and attendance systems
- High level numeracy, analytical skills, and problem-solving mindset
- Meticulous attention to detail, data integrity focus, and deadline discipline
- Clear communicator with a service mindset and confidence handling sensitive matters
- Can work in a team environment but also work independently in absence of the Payroll Manager.
Qualifications, Certificates, and Licences
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other related discipline
- Payroll Professional Certification or membership (e.g. APA or TAPS) preferred but not essential
