The Role
As a key member of our People team, you will support the delivery of core HR processes and systems, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a seamless experience for our team. You'll be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries, working with managers and the wider team to keep things running smoothly.
You will develop your skills across a broad range of human resources and talent management activities, gaining exposure to both operational HR and people-focused initiatives. Beyond day-to-day HR tasks, you will support the delivery of projects and programmes that contribute to attracting, retaining, and engaging our people. Working closely with the Senior People Manager, you will build trusted relationships with managers and employees, developing the confidence and expertise to provide sound, practical HR advice.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide first-line HR guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and best practice.
- Own and manage new hire onboarding and pre-boarding activities to deliver a smooth and positive employee experience.
- Support payroll processing by liaising with finance to communicate changes and ensure accurate and timely administration.
- Support the administration of HR systems (HRIS, ATS, performance management) to maintain data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Benefits administration and first-line issue resolution to ensure employees receive timely support.
- Support the communication of employee benefits information to drive awareness and utilisation of available programmes.
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity across HR systems, escalating discrepancies where appropriate.
- Support the roll-out and adoption of employee self-service tools by assisting employees with queries and system navigation.
- Manage the job description database in line with GxP compliance requirements and internal documentation standards.
- Monitor HR metrics and maintain reports to help identify trends and support continuous improvement.
- Raise invoices and purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support on projects and ongoing initiatives
Requirements
- Experience in HR operations or HR administration; exposure to a regulated or life sciences/biotech environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Demonstrated experience managing onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a positive and compliant employee experience.
- Working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with the ability to apply this confidently in day-to-day advisory situations.
- Hands-on experience supporting payroll administration, including liaising with finance teams to process changes accurately and on time.
- Proven experience using HRIS systems to maintain data accuracy and integrity; experience with Rippling is advantageous.
- Experience working with or maintaining document management systems or databases; familiarity with GxP or compliance documentation is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with employees and managers at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
