Position overview

We are seeking a Temporary EU & UK Product Compliance Specialist/Manager to support Stanley in ensuring product safety and compliance across the European region as a maternity cover for <6 months. In this role, you will contribute to monitoring, interpreting, and clearly communicating European legislation and regulatory requirements relating to raw materials, product development, manufacturing, and labeling of Stanley’s product portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Product Compliance, you will work closely with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to deliver practical, compliant, and effective solutions for Stanley’s products and packaging, with a primary focus on the European and UK markets.

This temporary position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by strengthening compliance practices and supporting the business in navigating complex regulatory environments.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor and assess internal and external developments relevant to the European regulatory landscape, highlighting potential impacts on the company’s products and packaging.
  • Stay informed on current European industry regulations affecting the company’s portfolio and communicate key updates to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Support cross-functional and global teams in developing portfolio solutions that remain compliant with applicable EU regulations.
  • Deliver training sessions and provide practical guidance on compliance best practices during the contract period.
  • Contribute to compliance-related projects and initiatives as assigned by the manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including customer responses and updates to internal databases and information systems.
  • Liaise with external laboratories and institutes to address product compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate across functions such as R&D, Quality, Sales & Customer Service, Procurement, Legal, and Manufacturing.
  • Escalate identified compliance risks or issues appropriately and support the manager in evaluating solutions.
  • Review internal business systems to confirm packaging and labeling compliance for products imported and sold across European markets.
  • Assist in creating, updating, and implementing EU product and labeling compliance guidelines.
  • Support risk management efforts by identifying potential regulatory changes or compliance gaps and recommending mitigation steps.
  • Advise teams on compliance risks and policy developments affecting business operations.
  • Ensure technical labeling requirements (e.g., compliance symbols, mandatory marks, disclosures, and statements of responsibility) are properly communicated and implemented.
  • Work with European customers and distributors to address compliance expectations and ensure requirements are met.

Who You Are

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex legal and/or internal requirements to all levels, provide sound guidance and collaborate on these topics with other relevant business functions;
  • Demonstrated experience in building processes and identifying and resolving regulatory issues quickly and effectively;
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills who demonstrates good judgment, initiative, and a sense of urgency;
  • Strong attention to detail with good follow through to ensure job completion and accuracy;
  • Ability to work independently as well as prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent organizational analytical and communication skills with the ability and willingness to help solve complex supply scenarios;
  • People oriented nature resulting in a drive to help others; resulting in strong customer service and responsiveness;
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Science or a similar discipline;
  • 5-10 years of experience in Regulatory and/or Compliance. Direct hardgoods experience within the drinkware and/or food storage industry preferred;
  • Experience with European labeling laws, label layout requirements, and other international regulatory requirements;
  • Fluent in English (working language). Good level in at least two other European languages is a plus;
  • Understanding of requirements needed for technical documentation and EU Declaration of Conformity.
