Position overview
The Trade Marketing Manager, GER & AUT is a key member of the EMEA organization, responsible for driving best-in-class retail execution across Germany and Austria. Working closely with Sales, Brand, and Commercial teams, this role plans and delivers impactful trade marketing initiatives that strengthen brand presence and enhance consumer engagement across both online and physical retail environments.
This is a hands-on, strategic role requiring strong retail marketing expertise and the ability to translate global brand strategies into effective local execution. Based in the Amsterdam EMEA office and reporting to the Senior Trade Marketing Manager, EMEA, the role involves regular travel within the DACH region.
What You’ll Do
Retail & Trade Marketing Execution
- Lead the rollout of brand campaigns and seasonal communication across retail fixtures and point-of-sale materials across the region.
- Across Germany and Austria, ensuring strong and consistent in-store and online execution.
- Deliver omni-channel retail activations with key partners, aligned to full-funnel marketing objectives and brand guidelines.
- Adapt global initiatives to local market needs, ensuring relevance while maintaining brand consistency.
Account & Commercial Partnership
- Drive strategic focus on key German accounts through joint business and marketing planning.
- Create and execute omni-channel marketing plans for strategic retail partners, aligned with the EMEA Brand Marketing framework and channel strategy.
- Support the go-to-market process, including seasonal sell-in presentations, account opportunities, and post-activation reporting.
- Partner closely with Sales teams to deliver marketplace excellence and maximize commercial impact.
Planning, Budget & Performance Management
- Manage the local trade marketing budget, including forecasting, invoicing, and financial tracking.
- Own and maintain the local trade marketing calendar by delivering campaigns on time, within budget and in line with brand calendar.
- Track, analyze, and report on campaign KPIs, and insights in line with EMEA reporting standards.
Who You Are
- A proactive, consumer-centric trade marketer with strong experience in retail and omni-channel marketing.
- Strategic in thinking and hands-on in execution, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experienced in developing and delivering joint marketing plans with key retail partners.
- A strong collaborator with the ability to build effective relationships across Marketing and Sales teams.
- Passionate about brand storytelling, with the ability to balance global consistency and local relevance.
- Data-driven and results-oriented, using insights to optimize future activations.
- Applies emotional intelligence and empathy to build trust and confidently manage key stakeholders.
Education and Experience
- Fluent written and spoken German and English is a must. Native German preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in Retail, Trade, or Brand Marketing, ideally within consumer products (fashion and/or sporting goods).
- Experience working with Athletic Specialty accounts (highly preferred).
- Strong understanding of the DACH retail landscape.
- Proven project management experience across multiple calendars.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with German third-party partners (design, production, event agencies).
- Familiarity with B2B platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and scale initiatives.
- University degree (BA/BS) or equivalent professional experience.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the DACH region.
