Product Engineer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Salary range: Rs 600000 - Rs 1000000 (ie INR 6-10 LPA)

Location: Chennai only (onsite / war-room friendly)

Experience: 3–6 years (hands-on, builder profile)

Requirements

Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable)

• Strong expertise in REST API development, with the ability to clearly explain API design concepts such as endpoints, authentication/authorization, status codes, pagination, and versioning.
• Ownership of testing practices, including unit, integration, and API testing; hands-on experience with tools like Postman or Swagger, with basic test automation exposure preferred.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Go, Java, Node.js, or Python.
• Clear and confident English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions, trade-offs, and prior project work.
• Fluency in Tamil for effective local coordination and collaboration.

Preferred / Value-Add Skills

• Background in BE/BTech (EEE/ECE) or hands-on experience with instrumentation, telemetry, industrial systems, or energy data.
• Exposure to Kafka or event-driven architectures, including basic producer–consumer concepts.
• Strong SQL skills with clean data modeling and the ability to debug production issues.
• Product-oriented mindset—demonstrates ownership, anticipates failure modes, and focuses on outcomes rather than task-only execution.
