The Business School is seeking to appoint a Professional Teaching Fellow – Business Communication (Undergraduate). Working closely with, and reporting to, the Team Lead, this position will design, develop, and deliver embedded business communication teaching that improves student learning outcomes and graduate employability across undergraduate programmes.
The Business Communication Team require practitioners who can operate credibly across the full breadth of business disciplines, working as genuine pedagogical partners with academic faculty. This includes collaborative curriculum and assessment design with discipline-based colleagues, implementing culturally responsive teaching practices for diverse student populations, and contributing to assessment redesign initiatives that embed communication skills authentically within disciplinary content.
The Business Communication (Undergraduate) Team sits at the heart of the Business School's developing embedded communication model, and will play a central role in shaping how scalable, high-quality learning experiences are designed and delivered across undergraduate programmes. This includes developing well-structured resources and scaffolded tasks, and the strategic use of AI-assisted tools to deliver timely, competency-aligned formative feedback that is both scalable and meaningful.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), fixed-term appointment of 36 months.
We are looking to appoint at PTF Step 1–3.
The salary range for this role is $105,791 – $128,065 per annum depending on experience and achievements, aligned with our Academic Standards policy.

He kōrero mōu | About you
The successful appointees will hold a postgraduate qualification in one or more of the following areas: business communication, organisational communication, technical communication, journalism, or a business discipline with a strong communication focus.
You will be an experienced practitioner with a proven track record of designing and delivering embedded business communication teaching within business or professional programmes. Critically, you will bring the breadth of disciplinary understanding and professional credibility needed to build effective working partnerships with faculty across the Business School's diverse academic disciplines.
