The Assessment Operations Manager at Maki holds a pivotal role at the intersection of operational excellence, candidate experience, and AI-driven innovation. Your primary mission is to ensure that Maki’s assessments and operational processes scale smoothly, delivering a seamless and engaging experience for both candidates and recruiters.
You’ll be at the heart of our assessment engine, supporting the creation, improvement, and deployment of a high-quality and constantly evolving test library. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will help structure and optimize the workflows that make our assessments both scientifically robust and operationally efficient.
In this role, you’re not simply running processes; you’re building the foundations of scalability. You will collaborate with Paul-Louis (COO), Mathilde (Team Lead), Luis, Leo, and Hugo (Project Manager – AI Automation) to identify friction points, streamline execution, and ensure every operational decision contributes to stronger engagement and better adoption.
By tackling challenges head-on, you will leverage data, user feedback, and automation opportunities to continuously enhance our internal systems. Your ability to combine rigor, empathy, and efficiency will directly strengthen trust in our product and elevate the experience of every user interacting with Maki.
In this role of Assessment Operations Manager, your impact is substantial—you don’t just support the day-to-day operations of Maki; you drive the evolution of our assessment experience, ensuring our AI-powered recruitment tools reach their full potential as we scale.
Test Library Development & Innovation
Bring our assessment library to life by designing and structuring high-quality tests aligned with market needs and customer expectations.
Co-create AI-powered assessments that combine scientific rigor, creativity, and business relevance, ensuring each test delivers meaningful insights.
Drive projects end-to-end — from identifying emerging skill needs and defining test concepts to producing, reviewing, and preparing content for upload on the platform.
Continuously enrich and refine our test portfolio to keep Maki at the forefront of innovation in AI-driven assessments.
Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement
Analyze assessment performance using data-driven insights to continuously optimize quality, relevance, and candidate experience.
Test and validate new assessments on the platform before public release, ensuring clarity, fairness, and seamless user journeys.
Collaborate with the Tech team to adapt tests to platform evolutions (new layouts, languages, immersive formats, new features).
Proactively improve internal workflows by leveraging automation and generative AI tools to increase efficiency and scalability.
Custom Assessments & Business Support
Create tailored, on-demand assessments to meet specific customer needs, ensuring alignment with their hiring strategy and competencies framework.
Support GTM and Implementation & Sucess teams by providing expertise on assessments and contributing to client-facing initiatives.
Equip internal teams with key insights about our tests — including structure, positioning, performance, and use cases — to strengthen alignment and commercial impact.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product, Tech, Science, Sales, Care, and Success teams to ensure assessment quality and operational excellence.
Act as a bridge between content creation and technical implementation, guaranteeing that every assessment is both scientifically sound and platform-ready.
Contribute to shaping internal best practices and team processes as one of the early contributors to Assessment Operations at MakiPeople.
