About Skyscanner
Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges ✈️. That's why we've spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily 💻.
Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet's go-to travel hack accessible for all 🌍.
Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally. (Ambitious? 💪 Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here)
We now have two newly created roles for 2x Quality Assurance and Compliance Specialists, both on 12month FTCs.
About the role
(Hybrid)
Purpose-driven compliance: This role exists to help Skyscanner meet growing global online safety and content moderation regulations — including the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) and UK Online Safety Act — without slowing down the brilliant work happening across the business.
Focused specialist impact: With dedicated specialist capacity to compliance obligations, you’ll protect BAU operations and strategic initiatives from disruption, while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and regulatory confidence.
At the centre of collaboration: You’ll work closely with Legal, Product, Engineering, and external partners to ensure compliance processes are robust today — and scalable for tomorrow.
What you’ll be doing
- Triage and manage compliance tickets: You’ll own the end-to-end handling of incoming quality and compliance-related tickets, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
- Delivering right-first-time responses: You’ll make sure all responses meet strict regulatory timelines and prescribed formats (hello, zero fines 👋).
- Maintaining audit-ready records: You’ll keep meticulous audit trails to support regulatory reporting and inspections.
- Partner management You’ll manage partner alerts and ensure content evaluation and removal decisions are applied consistently.
- Handling appeals with care: You’ll manage right-of-appeal cases and responses to reporters, balancing clarity, fairness, and compliance.
- Supporting regulatory reporting: You’ll contribute to quarterly and annual reporting obligations, working closely with Legal and internal stakeholders.
- Improving future processes: You’ll investigate where content moderation actions may occur across the business — now and in the future — and help expand or refine processes alongside Team Leads and Legal.
About you
- Compliance-minded and detail-driven: You’re comfortable working to strict rules, formats, and deadlines.
- Calm under pressure: You can juggle multiple tickets and timelines without breaking stride.
- Process-oriented: You have experience in QA, workflow optimisation, or process management — and you’re always spotting ways to improve.
- Clear communicator: You’re confident working with partners and internal teams, explaining complex requirements in simple terms.
- Legally curious: You’re don’t need to be a lawyer, but light legal or regulatory experience will make your landing a bit smoother.
- Strong technical background: You bring strong technical expertise, including experience with APIs (travel APIs preferred, but not essential), and can support compliance investigations while collaborating effectively with engineers using technical terminology.
- Quality-focused: You’re forward-thinking, and ready to run random checks and reviews to ensure compliance — even when issues aren’t flagged upfront.
- Collaborative by nature: You enjoy working cross-functionally and building strong relationships with Legal and external partners.
