Why this position matters and what we are looking for
At Nūmi, great science only happens if the lab runs flawlessly.
This role is not only about supporting experiments, it is about being the operational pillar of the R&D team. You will ensure that experiments can be run efficiently, safely, and repeatedly by maintaining the lab, managing supplies, and supporting scientists in their day-to-day work.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys:

🧪 Science and Experimental Support
- Support scientists and engineers in the execution of cellular and molecular biology experiments.
- Prepare reagents, media, buffers, and samples according to established protocols.
- Perform routine experimental tasks (e.g. cell culture support, PCR preparation, basic microscopy).
- Ensure accurate data recording, sample tracking, and documentation.
🧰 Lab Operations & Management
- Actively manage laboratory organization, cleanliness, and safety. Become the H&S ambassador and training keeper within the team.
- Take ownership of lab consumables and reagents: stock tracking, ordering, reception, and storage.
- Operate and maintain common laboratory equipment (e.g. autoclaves, incubators, centrifuges).
- Coordinate waste management, sterilization cycles, and general lab upkeep.
- Ensure that scientists can focus on research by anticipating operational needs.
🔧 Equipment & Process Reliability
- Perform routine equipment checks and first-line troubleshooting.
- Flag equipment issues and coordinate maintenance with suppliers when needed.
- Help standardize and improve lab processes to increase efficiency and reliability.
🤝 Team Support
- Work closely with the entire R&D team to support day-to-day activities.
- Participate in team meetings with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Serve as a reference point for lab organization and operational best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with relevant laboratory experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with biology techniques such as PCR, cell culture, and microscopy, ideally in an industrial setting.
- Strong familiarity with basic biology techniques (e.g. cell culture, PCR, microscopy).
- Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable with repetitive, operational, and support-oriented tasks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Bonus
- Experience in biotechnology or a related research and development role.
- Familiarity with ELISA and flow cytometry techniques.
