Position Summary:
The Regional Schools Officer is responsible for providing exceptional instructional leadership and supervision to a portfolio of schools to ensure achievement of Plan 2029 outcomes and actualize our shared vision of Excellent & Equitable Instruction. The Regional Schools Officer serves as the principal’s strategic partner, coach and supervisor; ensures the effective implementation of Mastery’s Common Foundation program and management systems; and serves on the senior leadership team to develop and support Network strategic and tactical initiatives. The Regional Schools Officer reports to the Chief Schools Officer.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Drive breakthrough school performance in student achievement, instructional quality, staff development and retention, school culture and operations
Provide ongoing technical and adaptive leadership coaching, problem solving, guidance and intensive support to principals and assistant principals
Partner with principals on a routine basis to review performance metrics, KPI plans and ensure strong execution of all campus initiatives
Ensure the consistent implementation of Mastery’s Common Foundation program and management approaches
Ensure Mastery’s standard operating procedures are being maximized and the leadership team is actively demonstrating Mastery’s Leadership Competencies
Liaise with the Network Support Team to marshal needed resources, services and ensure high quality supports aligned with campus needs and priorities
Serve on Network Schools Team and Executive Committee to develop and support Network strategic and tactical initiatives and support the work of other senior leaders
Serve as Acting Principal to support campus transitions, as needed

Education and Experience:
Master’s degree required
Minimum of five years of Principal or Principal Manager experience in a high-performing urban public school
Other Requirements:
Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role as outlined above, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as traveling to network campuses, monitoring and interacting with students, in-person facilitation of trainings, etc.
This role requires frequent travel between multiple locations. Reliable transportation is essential to fulfill job responsibilities.
Salary and Bonus Information:
Regional Schools Officers at Mastery can expect a salary between $182,700 – $208,100. Each offer is made in alignment with Mastery’s compensation philosophy and commitment to pay equity, ensuring fairness and consistency across our team.
