Sanctuary, a world leader in building AI-based control systems for humanoid robots, is seeking an exceptional Robotics Technician to help build and deploy robotics systems. Typical work will include the assembly, testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our state-of-the-art robotic systems.
As a Robotics Technician, reporting to the Application Engineering Manager, you will work alongside a cross-functional engineering team and be responsible for hands-on technical work that directly supports rapid prototyping, system integration, testing, and iterative hardware development. Travel to customer sites is required.
Build, commission and maintain robotics systems across our growing fleet of robots
Implement robust safety systems to meet internal and customer requirements
Develop and maintain clear documentation for systems, ensuring ease of maintenance and quality across all configurations of robotic systems
Support deployments on-site, integrating our systems with customer sites when needed, ensuring a smooth transition to operation in the field
Technical degree or diploma from a Technical College or University such as engineering technology, or instrumentation technology, or equivalent industry experience.
Red Seal/Journeyman electrician is considered a major asset
Experience building and maintaining electromechanical systems, with a strong preference for robotics or industrial automation
Experience creating and interpreting electrical schematics and engineering drawings
Proficiency working with and integrating PLCs, both installation and programming
Experience testing, commissioning and qualifying new sensors and electromechanical devices
Bonus: CAD knowledge such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of electromechanical systems
Installing electrical systems to Canadian or international codes and standards
PLC programming for industrial automation
Organized and able to create, follow and keep up to date documentation of systems, including BOMs, schematics, standard operating procedures.
Organized and methodical approach to troubleshooting
First Aid, OFA, WHMIS, or other relevant safety certification is considered an asset.
