Job Purpose 

 

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for proactively generating and qualifying outbound leads, initiating first contact with prospective clients, and booking high quality demo meetings for the Business Development Consultants (BDC). This role is heavily focused on outbound prospecting, cold outreach, and pipeline creation through a consultative, data driven sales approach. 

 

The SDR plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by identifying decision makers, uncovering business pain points, and ensuring only qualified opportunities progress to the sales stage. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Outbound Lead Generation & Prospecting 

  • Proactively source and generate outbound leads through cold calling, email sequences, LinkedIn outreach, and other prospecting channels 

  • Build targeted prospect lists based on industry, company size, and accounting or financial needs 

  • Identify and engage key decision makers such as founders, finance managers, and CFOs 

 

Lead Qualification & Discovery 

  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospects’ bookkeeping, tax compliance (VAT, IFRS), and financial reporting challenges 

  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria including business size, readiness, budget, and need 

  • Clearly assess prospect fit before advancing them in the sales funnel 

 

High Volume Outreach & Engagement 

  • Execute a high volume of daily outbound calls and follow ups with professionalism and confidence 

  • Handle objections effectively and position the accounting software as a solution to real business problems 

  • Maintain consistent activity levels to meet pipeline and meeting targets 

 

Demo Scheduling & Handover 

  • Schedule qualified demo meetings for the BDC team with a strong emphasis on quality over quantity 

  • Ensure prospects are well informed and prepared for the demo 

  • Provide clear and accurate handover notes to BDCs to ensure a smooth transition 

 

CRM & Performance Tracking 

  • Accurately update and maintain prospect data in HubSpot CRM 

  • Track outreach activity, qualification outcomes, demo attendance, and conversion rates 

  • Use data to continuously improve messaging, targeting, and outreach effectiveness 

 

Cross Functional Collaboration 

  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to align on ideal customer profiles and messaging 

  • Share feedback with the Team Leader on lead quality, objections, and market insights 

Qualifications

What You Will Bring to the Role 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field 

  • 2–4 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a SaaS environment 

  • Strong experience in outbound prospecting, cold calling, and lead generation 

  • Fluency in English with excellent communication, listening, and persuasion skills 

  • Confidence handling objections and initiating conversations with senior stakeholders 

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple prospects simultaneously 

  • Goal oriented mindset with a strong drive to exceed targets 

  • Passion for delivering a high quality prospect experience and continuous self improvement 

  • Experience in FinTech, Accounting, or ERP software is a strong advantage 

 

Key Success Metrics 

  • Number of qualified outbound leads generated 

  • Quality and conversion rate of scheduled demos 

  • Pipeline value created for the BDC team 

  • Outreach activity consistency and response rates
