SAP BTP - ABAP Dev

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP BTP – ABAP Developer with strong expertise in ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), cloud-ready ABAP development, and integration within the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The ideal candidate will work on designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based SAP applications, extensions, and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop applications and extensions on SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk).

• Build and maintain RAP-based OData services (managed & unmanaged scenarios).

• Design and implement ABAP Cloud–compliant solutions following SAP’s clean-core principles.

• Develop custom objects, CDS Views, Behaviors, Business Objects, and Fiori UI service exposures.

• Integrate SAP BTP solutions with SAP S/4HANA (on-prem or cloud) using OData, RFCs, BTP Connectivity.

• Optimize ABAP code for performance, scalability, and security in the cloud environment.

• Work closely with functional consultants, architects, and integration teams.

• Participate in code reviews, testing cycles, and production deployment activities.

• Maintain documentation, technical specifications, and solution design.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in ABAP on SAP BTP or ABAP Cloud.

• Proficiency in RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).

• Experience with CDS Views, Business Object behavior definition, and annotations.

• Hands-on with OData V2/V4, Fiori app enablement.

• Good understanding of SAP BTP services such as Cloud Foundry, Destination, XSUAA, and Event Mesh.

• Experience with Git-based repositories, ABAP Git, and CI/CD concepts.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to SAP CAP, Node.js, or UI5 development.

• Knowledge of Integration Suite, Workflow Management, or BTP Security.

• Experience with S/4HANA extensibility (In-App/Side-by-Side).

• Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM or Solution Manager
