Role overview
The role of the Scrub Technician is to support the surgeons and registered staff by providing high quality care to patients whilst contributing to and ensuring the smooth running of the ophthalmic theatre. Main roles and responsibilities will include providing assistance during high flow cataract lists whilst acting professionally and within own levels of competency at all times. You will work as part of a hard-working and dedicated theatre team, assisting with the daily set up of the theatre and all theatre equipment, instruments and consumables. On completion of our in-house training Scrub Practitioner Programme, you will be required to assist the surgeon to give excellent patient care by providing competent scrub assistance within the operating theatre, whilst gaining proficient skills in aseptic technique and maintenance of a sterile field.
