TheSeniorAdultSexualityEducatorisresponsibleforfacilitatingeducationalsexualand reproductive health workshops for English and Spanish speaking adults of all ages and scheduling and providing professional presentations with local partners as well as supporting the operation of program activities. Connects community members to Planned Parenthood of Greater New York’s brick and mortar as well as mobile health centers via appointment making and makes general referrals for other needs as appropriate. Builds and maintains relationships with community leaders and partner organizations. Assists in scheduling and confirming workshops, community outreach and supports supervisor in meeting program goals. Collects input from community residents to assure community involvement in program decision making and direction of outreach and education. This is a full-time position located within New York City and Nassau County and involves travel within the region about 40% of the time.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Program and Office support (50%)Successful completion of training provided by PPGNY on various sexual and reproductive health issues, outreach, and facilitation skills.Schedule and facilitate training for service providers and serve as a member of the Training Institute training team as needed. Facilitate work shops throughout NYC and Nassau for English and Spanish speaking adults and other participants solo or with other department staff at various community venues such as Consulates, shelters, colleges and universities, detention centers, etc.Serve as a sexual and reproductive health (SRH) trainer and knowledge resource, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to junior staff as needed. Preparematerialsforworkshops,includingbutnotlimitedtopresentations,supply runs and luggage preparation with flyers, educational materials, participant certificates, etc. Collectallnecessarydocumentation,includingparticipantdemographicsandother data, and organize documents for program administration. Foster partnerships with local community-based organizations, community leaders, and schools in NYC. This includes attending community coalition meetings and events when required. Work as a member of the Equity and Engagement departments and maintain high standards of professionalism. Represent the Departments at selected internal and external meetings, and consortiums.Works effectively with volunteers, trainees and other agency personnel.Customer Service Responsibilities(10%)Assist clients in making appointments to PPGNY centers and/or Mobile Health Center as appropriate; make general referrals for program participants to health and social services as needed.Promote and provide referrals to PPGNY’s educational and advocacy programs.Administrative(20%)Review and update workshop scripts and materials in English and Spanish as needed.Assist with workshop planning and scheduling, as well as collaborate with other CommunityEngagementteamstaffonoutreachevents,communitymeetings,and workshops, as scheduled.Completerequireddocumentationtotrackprogressinmeetingprogramgoals.Contributetointernal and external reportingonprogram activities.Assists with other basic administrative duties. This may include filing, organizing supplies, setting up and breaking down special events, etc.Budgetary/Statistical Support(8%)Identifysupplyneedsandprovidedocumentationforprogrambudgetspenddown in a timely mannerSpecialProjects(10%)Performs other educational and experience related duties or projects as outlined by the Community Engagement and Education & Training department’s annual Operating Plan or as outlined in grants.HumanResources(2%)Completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies and standardpracticesintheareasofADAandregulatorycomplianceprogramssuch as HIPAA.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma/GEDMust have at least one (1) year of related and / or applicable experience and a demonstrated ability to effectively work with adults in targeted communities.Two(2)years of experience delivering education and training to adults in community settings
Preferred Qualifications
Have an understanding of the barriers that under served communities face in accessing sexual and reproductive health care and talking about sexuality.Other additional languages/dialects plus.
Typical Demands and Working Conditions
Requires prolonged sitting and repetitive tasks including use of a computer. Periodic standing, walking, bending. Requires lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds of programming or event materials. Must be able to occasionally walk up and down stairs. Visual acuity sufficient to perform frequent work on a computer screen and review printed reports and other materials. Requires the ability to hear and to communicate orally with others. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, and will require reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling. Working Conditions:This job operates in a professional office environment. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions in a health center environment. Requires travel to various indoor and outdoor environments to conduct programming or events. Requires flexible schedule and during peak activity periods work in excess of 7.5 hours per day and/or 37.5 hours per week
